My hotpoint WD63 decided to stop working, was a bit bored so decided to start taking it apart, anyway rather foolishy I removed the two screws on the white plastic where the door catch goes into.

It seems that whatever was behind the screws has dropped down into the machine, so now I'm left with the white plastic latch and two screws that can't be screwed in.

Anyway, how easy is it to rescue the bit that dropped down, will I be able to reach down and get it if I take the top off, thought I'd ask before I attempt it because if not I'll just leave it.

un plug m/c take lid off, get torch lean down and grab it, and for the really adventouus, take door seal off put hand in and grab it

You MUST UNPLUG THE M/C before you do this! (switching it off its NOT aceptable)

Thanks for that, will have a look tomorrow. and don't worry, no intention of going anywhere near it whilst it's plugged in :D .
