Moving the switched live as you say puts the heating on permanently

Sure thing here ya go Just to point out I missed a S/L in my first wiring diagram on the first post this runs from terminal 10 to the boiler if that helps at all Thanks for all the helps so far

Its ignoring the thermostat but looks to be heating the hot water at the moment Turning the hot water off turns the light out and it stops heating the hot water Turning the stat to call for heat does nothing! No light on stat either

Thanks for that jackthom Upon connecting it all up the call lamp is permanently on! Edit: its the hot water call that is causing it to illuminate

That wiring diagram is how its wired now The LN and E terminals are what's just taken off the wiring diagram on the old stat but the terminals are just numbered inside After posting I soon realised one was a switched live

I would be amazed if my alternator could charge a battery while its sat in a shop waiting to be bought! The battery is new and was picked up with 10 volts showing! As far as I'm aware your supposed to store batteries with charge and not let them go flat otherwise permanent damage can be caused?

Its not that they arent any good VW use complicated systems that talk to each other and are all on can bus and after market could easily mess things up if everything is already there for the cruise except the stalk its just a case of buying a stalk and lower steering cowl and coding it...

your right on getting the switch and column cover but anyone with VCDS diagnostic tool can code it you dont have to go to main dealer I have VCDS and fitted and coded my cruise to my Audi A4 theres plenty of people about with VCDS get on a few VW and Audi forums and find someone local...
