What is wrong with this plant?

Hello, Does anyone know what this plant is, and more importantly what is attacking it. It doesn't look very well to me. Is there a cure or is it time to dig it out?

Removing a block from wall, and refitting.

It is a dummy chimney, but made of brick. If there was a fault there, wouldn't the damp be shown from directly underneath ? I have drilled a couple more inspection holes tonight and found a couple of more wet areas. The old inspection holes are now dry which is something I guess.

Removing a block from wall, and refitting.

The shower hasn't been used for about 6 weeks now, and has been removed for about 4 weeks. How long would you say it would take to dry out? The patchs outside dont change in size at all. The other maybe is the false chimney. If that was letting water in some how maybe it's running down the...

Im sure others still be along with a more qualified answer but did you tape the joints? Could be movement in the plasterboard, especially with the warm weather of late.

Removing a block from wall, and refitting.

Thanks guys. The game has changed slightly as I have now found that the cavity is full of the white ball type insulation. I'm trying to come up with a plan to remove the block, stop the million insulation balls filling my bathroom, then refit the block and insulate behind again. Right game. ...:)

Removing a block from wall, and refitting.

Thanks Damo, I will only be taking one out at a time, but will prop the gap during the time the block is out anyway. I have been looking into buying a spare block just in case it gets damaged, but 610x210 (approx) doesn't seem to be a common size. Im hoping it will be 100mm thick. The missus...

Removing a block from wall, and refitting.

I am trying to trace the cause of a damp patch on my external gable wall. It is on the 2nd floor, pretty much where my en suite shower was. I had been advised to remove a brick and inspect. This would involve scaffold/access equipment. The en suite shower has now been stripped out to the block...

    Plasterboard size mismatch

Thanks 23vc. I might just go down the normal plasterboard and tanking route then. Next problem is getting them big sheets in the car, or on the roof rack! Haha

    Plasterboard size mismatch

I would still get the problem with the hardibacker as the biggest I can find is 12mm and the aqua 12.5mm butting up against my existing plasterboard which is 15mm.

    Plasterboard size mismatch

Evening, i am currently undertaking the refit of my ensuite shower. There has been evidence of a leak so have removed all tiles and plasterboard from the shower enclosure. The plasterboard used in the enclosure was 'normal' plasterboard at 15mm. On one of the walls i have removed about 800mm...

    Dark patch on external wall

Thought i would update this. I have discovered that the cavity has insulation. During my investigations i went in the loft and could see insulation wrapped in green plastic poking out of the top near where the roof is. I also found that the shower was leaking again, this time through a...

    Dark patch on external wall

I'm not sure what's in the cavity, or how to find out if I'm honest, but what's the fix, do I need to do anything or is it a case of letting it dry out, keep an eye on it and making sure it doesn't get bigger? Thanks for taking the time to reply Woody.

    Dark patch on external wall

Ahh sorry, one thing I didn't think to mention is that it's not a real chimney, just a pretend one. (If that's what you meant by flue gas). I've rechecked the enclosure tonight and it defo isn't leaking now. Woody, are you saying that it may have soaked all the way through from the previous...

    Dark patch on external wall

Howdo? I have noticed a dark patch on my external brick wall which i cant suss out. Its sort of in the middle of the wall. It is directly behind my ensuite shower enclosure but surely if that was leaking there would be signs inside the house. I have checked under the tray and its all good...
