JG Speedfit vs Hep2O in 2021

I would say I prefer hep, but I mainly use jg speed fit as it’s cheaper. Hep was the original acorn and seen it test the time over the years. Only thing with hep is dismantling if need be compared to speed fit. Pipe wise lay flat for speed fit , hep is pretty flexible as it is.

    3x 300l unvented cylinders in a basement.

A power failure will never stop a prv from discharging , think of it that way. Only way you can is with a solenoid powered open as stated, seen a spec of a Galvenised tank and float switch with high temp sump pump. Should it fail A float switch will cut power to The solenoid. If power fails then...

Gledhill ES indirect unvented cylinders - any good?

Fitted quite a few , get what you pay for and that would be the fact you need to supply your own compression fittings, comes with the usual Caleffi group set like most will supply, Esi 2 port valve and ev. Never had any problems with them.

Ideal vogue poor hot water supply

Disagree .. read my post and argue all you want. If you think modern day mono mixer taps etc use 15-22mm inlets then let me know. Most common fault over the years with say a 24kw combi on old 22mm to the bath was a customer complaining in winter the bath hot is crap at full rate.

Ideal vogue poor hot water supply

Silly question where was it measured. Was it near the point we’re the cold feed to the boiler is. Eg outside tap giving 18lpm. Yet pipe to cws giving 12lpm restricted. Then you fit a boiler on that pipe that gives 12lpm. It’s basic **** really. 22mm to bath was norm back in the days when on tank...

Salus RT500RF:Heating keeps coming on when thermostat is set to low

Problem with modern thermostats if the program off intervals are not set to the lower room temp setting eg when off someone sets it to 21c. Then the unit will just carry on. But that should be overrides on the temp settings

Salus RT500RF:Heating keeps coming on when thermostat is set to low

Old thermostat these days and replaced loads. Look near the boiler and you might find a little white box (receiver ) with on and off. Try selecting the off switch and see if it shuts the boiler down. Is the heating on 24/7.

Radiator sizing query. They are soo tiny!

I just over size rads and let the rest sort it out. Eg trv. But if space and cost is a problem then work it out. Mears Gauge is still in the van. As mentioned old style was 80c flow with 11c difference , these days it’s designed with 70c flow and 20c difference,
