    Suspended floor covering?

Sorry I have caused confusion - my last post did not make sense. So in my new extension I have 400 centres on my joists and will board that with t&G 22mm plywood. I will glue those t&G joints but I assume I dont have to glue to joists as well as screw. I was intending this to meet my 22mm...

    Suspended floor covering?

Hello All, Just a quick question. In our new extension we have a suspended floor ready for covering. What are opinions on the materials? I was thinking chipboard t&g panels (as presumably these are cheap) but have never done/used before and have read a couple of posts with people...

    Is my roof design right

Thanks S.R.E., That sets my mind at rest!! To be fair to the other forum member he was simply trying to be helpful and didn't say I was wrong. He was just raising a point and he did mention he was not an expert and suggested the roofing forum. He has helped me in a load of other...

    Is my roof design right

Hello, After a bit of advice about roof construction particularly in relation to cold roof/warm roof and whether the design we have been given is ok. So its a lean to roof low pitch, tiles then battens then Klober permo air membrane then 125mm rafters, 25mm gap between top of rafters then...

Running lighting cables in vaulted insulated ceiling

Hi B.A.S., Would welcome some advice on this as I have to admit I was confused by the distinction between warm/cold and ventilated unventilated roofs. The membrane is the klober permo air - which from manufacturers site says following: "Permo air is the most breathable air open low...

Running lighting cables in vaulted insulated ceiling

Hello, I have an extension being built with a vaulted ceiling that has 125 * 50 rafters. The ceiling has a breathable membrane. 25mm air gap is left from top of rafters to then 100mm celotex between rafters and then 52.5 celotex insulation backed plasterboard beneath. I have read with...

Thanks Noseall and SurreyRoofingEstimator and apologies for the delay in saying thanks. I forgot I asked this in the end! but had come to same conclusion. I put in plenty of lap so didn't quite see point in tape. If I may and you get this response can I also ask your opinion on a problem I...

Should I tape my breather membrane

HI, Having a roof done. It's a low pitch (16 deg) using low pitch tiles. Would the roofers on here recommend I tape membrane or do people not usually bother ? It is a non vented roof and if taping recommended any particular tape I need use or is it ok to use a general double sided...
