    New build tv aerial

My sister just moved into a new build, was told aerial all sorted but she only has cabling installed to rooms and it's all coiled in loft. They can't have an external aerial until the whole site is finished and handed over so I need to get an aerial fitted in the loft, and will move it outdoor...

What is this seemingly attached to underground gas line

I have no idea about this sort of stuff so can only go on what people say. If it was on my property I would 100% get cadent out to investigate but as I say its not my call. I can only advise but he don't want to listen now

What is this seemingly attached to underground gas line

Sorry I showed the pics to a plumber/gas engineer yesterday who said he'd come across similar before and believes them to be test nipples for a join in the pipe. He said they're normally snapped off but sometimes they can't be bothered and leave them on. He said he'd have no concern over them...

What is this seemingly attached to underground gas line

I'm going to get him to dig a bit more out to get a better look but he's obviously a bit wary now. From what he's shown me it looks like the yellow pipe goes into a black collar and I assume the other side of that is the original pipe. He does have cable TV but not anywhere near that part of...

    Recirculating kitchen extractors

As per the title, are these ever any good. The only route out of our kitchen to outside is approx 6m with 3 x 90 degree bends so a complete waste of time. I've been looking at this one https://luxairhoods.com/90cm-Recirculating-Ceiling-Kitchen-Hood It's a lot of money which I don't mind paying...

    Which celotex

Thanks for the replies. 25mm is obviously not really sufficient although better than nothing and I can't go thicker without creating a step into the next room as the whole downstairs is 25mm. Our house was built in 85 and the regs obviously weren't as tight then. We don't have a damp proof...

    Which celotex

I have a floating floor over block and beam and need to replace the insulation that the chipboard is sitting on. It's currently 25mm polystyrene. I've been quoted for celitex tb4000 but I'm not certain if that is the best stuff to use. I believe ga4000 might be the better product but I can't...

    Flooring options on floating floor

The downstairs of our house has 18mm tongue and groove chipboard floating floor over 25mm polystyrene. We are looking at laying new flooring for hallway thru into kitchen and were considering lvt or a laminate type floor but really not sure if this is suitable as the under floor isn't fixed. We...

    fire / smoke alarm recommendations

I've got Kidde alarms. 1 heat in garage, 1 optical and 1 smoke in house. They can be wired together or wireless units can be used if wiring not possible. They are quite bulky, esp the wireless units but I've only ever had battery units so they may all be quite big
