Polishing scratches out of ceramic tiles

Try White tooth paste if the marks are minor. T-cut can be used if you are careful, I have used Brasso before sucessfully although it can make a bit of a sheene on a mat tile. If they are bigger/deeper then a glaze rubber can be purchased from pottery suppliers if you are near to...

    TILE ADHESIVE

Hi I am not familiar with BAL's range but I would recommend priming the surfaces first with an SBR primer (not PVA) and then a White cement based polymer modified adhesive which I guess BAL White star is. As long as everything is sound and non -primed wet areas are tanked it should be fine.

    travertine vs limestone

I would go Travertine but if you have a holy one make sure you fill the backs of the tiles to fill the holes with adhesive as well as the fronts with grout. Seal really well with Lithofin stain stop. Limestone is very susceptable to staining. Have you considered the many excellent man made...

    Latex screed is cracking.

I would not tile the floor until you are sure that the floor/sub floor is stable. Listen to Jasonb's advice. We would always fix these type of boards to the floor never loose lay. The underfloor heating does not want to be turned on for at least 3-4 weeks then warm up gradually. Make sure...

Tile under the WC or around?

Make sure the floor is over laid with 15mm exterior plywood or "No-More Ply" These give you a rigid water resistant floor to tile onto. You will still need a "single-part flexible" adhesive and flexible grout (or grout with an additive) Always take the loo out then tile it looks far far...

    Tiling onto plaster

As said by Jasonb tanking kits are brilliant, can buy for a lot less. Norcros's kit costs about £45 comes with primer in the kit.

    Heavy/Large Tiles

For large tiles always use a cement based adhesive, suggest a polymer modified White cement based adhesive. Don't skim the plaster board, as said plasterboard on it's own holds more weight than skimmed. I always recommend a tanking kit prior to tiling onto plasterboard (or plaster) in wet areas...
