I've just installed some mains 50 watt recessed spotlights in my hallway and landing, the only problem is i drilled one of the holes a bit close to the one of the loft joists and the lamp holder is touching it. Does anyone know how hot these things get and whether this is a potential fire...

All done now! Thanks for the advise everyone. I moved all the furniture and carpet and floorboards last night and fitted the 30amp junction box in place of the 13amp connector. I can sleep at night now. :D
