Rightio! This is the next installment!!! hehehe I (almost) did what gigz suggested above, except i remembered it incorrectly and bled the upstairs rads first, when i realised (after doing the downstairs ones) i re-did the upstairs ones! So i topped up to 1.5bar, bled the rads and it went down...

Thanks gigz - how would i rectify that? this is the only thing that has changed on the system since it was installed so i have been thinking that i have not done the radiator replacement properly.... The pressure still drops - sometimes slowly - sometimes quicker. Eddy

alright then! so i went round all of the radiators (again) to check all the pipe connections....i fiddled with a bleed valve on one of the radiators that i took off the wall a while ago. I loosened it, water hissed and came out so i closed it again. I then turned the TRV onto 5 - it had...

so..., the pressure remained the same as when i topped it up. then i switched the black valves open again and the pressure immediately dropped about 0.5 of a bar and i heard gushing noises as though water was travelling somewhere! Does this mean i have to search for a leak along the pipes?.....i...

Thanks for all the replies, so i topped up the system and we haven't used the hot water or heating, the pressure guage is dropping and i have checked all the visible pipework at radiators and pipework above the ceiling and cannot find any leaks. It does not look as though there is any dripping...

thanks again. It has dropped again! we don't have the heating on but we are using the hot water tap - does this mean it is likely to be a leak on the hot water supply or could it still be anywhere??? what is the best way to try and locate the leak - just trawl everywhere for leaks?.... Thanks...

Hi everyone. i have looked online and i cannot find any description of re-pressurising what my boiler looks like underneath! I have attached a picture and i am unsure what i need to do. I beleive i need to turn one or both of the blue taps but i am not sure how i can tell whether they are open...

    Room in Roof Insulation

I have spoken to a friendly local builder who assures me that 50mm celotex between the rafters and 32,5mm insulated plasterboard across the face of the rafters is sufficient insulation on the sloping ceiling part. He evaded the question about what is needed in the knee wall! I was thinking of...

    Room in Roof Insulation

i suppose the quilting material is not high performance and therefore will not be able to get sufficient thickness between sloping rafters? I am looking at saving money you see, on initial costing (for materials) i have come up with; Loft insulation roll - 200mm thick = £120 + 100mm thick =...

    Room in Roof Insulation

Hi, I have decided that my turn of the century mid terrace house will be cold in the winter! We have ground floor, first floor and then rooms in the roof with flat ceiling (loft space above) made of lathe and plaster ceiling, then part of the ceiling is sloping - again lathe and plaster with...
