Immersion thermostat and thermal cut out

Thanks but does the thermostat have to be the same make as the immersion, especially bearing in mind what seems to me to be an unusual design with the thermal cut out separate from the thermostat?

Immersion thermostat and thermal cut out

Thanks - The immersion (and tank) is only about 15 months old and previous immersions have lasted at least 15 years. Is it absolutely not possible with this model (see picture above) to replace just the thermostat or even just the thermal cut out? If I can would it have to be like for like or...

Immersion thermostat and thermal cut out

Thank you for your comprehensive reply. Are you saying that it is not possible to just replace the thermostat and thermal cut out with this type of immersion. I understand that can be done without removing the immersion and draining the tanK?

Immersion thermostat and thermal cut out

It was fitted by the plumber so don't have a receipt for the actual immersion etc. So does this type of thermostat have to be replaced like for like or otherwise replace the whole immersion?

Immersion thermostat and thermal cut out

Thanks for this. Whats confusing me though is that this thermal cut out does not seem to be integral to the thermostat. It is mounted on top of a brass "lump" next to it with the wiring going through it. Does this make any difference to changing the thermostat to one of a different make to the...

Immersion thermostat and thermal cut out

My hot water is only heated by an immersion. When a new tank and immersion were fitted about 1 year ago I started to get problems with the thermal cut out on the immersion being triggered at random stages during the heating process. Sometimes this would be even with the temperature of the...

    Integrated power shower problem

Solenoid replaced. Tested using the jumper over the middle two terminals on the PCB. Turned on power - Water ran by gravity. Fitted everything back together and all worked perfectly. Then managed to drop the shower head spray against the bath which split it completely in half. Oh well these...

    Integrated power shower problem

I so much appreciate your help but I am feeling out of my depth and really don't feel comfortable dealing with electricity. Is is your guess that the solenoid on the shower has broken? If so is it worth replacing or getting a new shower? After this I think I need to call it a day and go over the...

    Integrated power shower problem

Could you explain in a bit more detail please - I have not used it before. The Ohms dial has a range of settings - which one do I use and what to I put the red and black probes against on the solenoid? I have put a new battery in the Multimeter.

    Integrated power shower problem

Have done exactly as you instructed but no water flowed when I turned the supply back onto the shower. As per the instruction book also tried turning the temp dial clockwise and anti clockwise a few times.

    Integrated power shower problem

Just found the black connector - It was taped to the tool for removing the centre part of the spray head.
