17 year old employee my grandaughter advice req

I got scammed in a similar way, I wrote off a company vehicle after being forced (i.e do it or you are fired) to drive way more than was realistically possibly in one day, ended up falling asleep and crashing. I realised the job wasn't worth it and quit but they stole a months wages to cover the...

    IKEA

The quality of some items isn't too bad. We've a few wardrobes that are good quality and have stood the test of time. a 10 year old stainless steel cutlery set that is still as good as the day we bought it and I quite like some of the glassware they have on offer. As you say though...

    "Warning Notice" from "Boiler Engineer"

Not really, the boiler engineer that installed it originally made a good job and gave me a bit of respect from one engineer to another, every time I have dealings with heat team it ends in a disaster, took three attempts for them to rectify a filling loop problem, I could have done it right...

    "Warning Notice" from "Boiler Engineer"

Heatteam engineer/bottom feeder came out today to replace a faulty spark electrode on my boiler (after I had jogged his memory as to why he was at my house  ) Anyhow, he gave me some warning or other due to the way the boiler is connected electrically. He claims the plug the installer...

    Window for flat roof.

Cheers guys, will give it some thought. My house is a bit strange in that the old external window from the kitchen looks out into the garage, the skylight was installed to give light to this window obviously. If it wasn't for this I would just remove the skylight and fit some more fluro's...

    Window for flat roof.

Cheers Alastair, That would be ok in terms of replacinging what I have already, however I'm open to other suggestions, anything that doesnt protrude obviously from the roof would be good. Would light pipes work or will they not give enough light?

Is a rewire required to add sockets and replace CU?

Doubt you would "need" a rewire, would be worth having a Periodic Inspection done on the house to see what needs to be done though. You can mix the cable types, just needs an extra warning sticker on the CU stating mixed cable types. If you are going to be doing major renovation work and...

    Window for flat roof.

Any ideas on a window for a flat roof? Currently I've got a raised section on top of my garage made up of railway sleepers with some kind of industrial looking dome on top of it. Problem is, it leaks, doesnt particularly look too clever and could do with replacing.

Creating doorway from house into a garage.

The first floor and roof is above, the roof bears onto the wallplate at the top of the wall, other than that nothing, the floor joists all run in the opposite direction.

Creating doorway from house into a garage.

Just after a bit of advice really. I'm considering putting an opening into my garage from the hallway. I understand there needs to be a difference in floor heights between the two rooms, I think this should be ok, however a raised threshold isnt an issue. I know I will need a fire...

Party Wall Act & scaffolding in neighbour garden

Just talk to them, most people are fairly reasonable. If he proves to be a total c*nt over the situation bung the brickie a bit of a cash to create some "artwork" using decorative bricks while constructing the wall

Rough idea on price per point

*sigh* You make me laugh with your version of the real world. Point 1 - Yes, the pins are hot, but I figured they would be anyhow. Point 2 - I've brought the matter up with the MD of the company, besides switching off all non essential loads, there is nothing more i can do besides...

Rough idea on price per point

Plug tops are hot, but not too hot to touch, I'm aware that the sockets are probably drawing more than they are rated at. Not had a powercut/circuit trip for many years, just the odd outage/dip due to the fact we are in the middle of nowhere. No, the company moved a few years back and i was...

Rough idea on price per point

Indeed, we have two double sockets, yet in the main offices an abundance of random totally useless sockets, I have the visio diagram of what we asked for here, but it doesn't correlate to what we actually got. As to what we have 10 Servers 4x EMC Clariion SAN 3x Tape Archives 1x Bank of...
