Advice on a flat to pitch roof conversion

I have submitted the application and paid the fee, probably three weeks ago now. Someone is on holiday and there is a backlog, apparently... My councils planning department don't give out free advice, I did try that avenue first.

Advice on a flat to pitch roof conversion

Cheers Noseall, very informative. I have considered a hip design, a few of my neighbours have done the same. I'm pretty confident in going ahead with a lean to design but wouldn't really know where to start with a hipped roof to be honest. Soffit/Gutter overhang is onto a footpath, I was...

Advice on a flat to pitch roof conversion

Hey, I'm after a bit of advice on this project. My garage is 3.5x10m and runs the length of the house, currently it has a flat roof that I have been patching up forever, the time has come to re-roof and I would rather change to a lean to pitched type roof rather than just replace with...

Cheers for your thoughts Bernie, will probably have to just pay the price if the cable is as unstable as you say. Banal Sheds, kindly **** Off :D

    Moving Cutout/Meter

Firstly I am aware this isn't really something anyone except the DNO should be undertaking but the quote I had from them was £900........ What I would like to do is to unscrew the complete board and reposition it about two ft further up from where it is. I beleive the cable is split...

    Loft Conversion Questions

These have probably been asked before but i'm wondering if anyone can help. Before the members among us with adenoid problems pipe up, once i've done my own research I will be consulting a professional with regards to the design but intend to do the construction myself. I'm wanting to convert...

Two 90 degree bends from toilet to soilstack, bad idea?

Any more thoughts on this? Distance will be about 70 cm between points? How close is too close?

Two 90 degree bends from toilet to soilstack, bad idea?

Ideally I would like to relocate my bog to another wall in the bathroom, this would involve using a 90degree elbow straight off the back of the pan, through the wall, another 90 degree elbow then about 2.5m of pipe before it reaches the soil stack. I can get more than the required level of...

    Shower Recommendations - Combi

I'm after a shower to use with a Combi Boiler. The boiler is a Baxi Duotec 28HE and the cold water is fed directly from the mains with excellent pressure. I doubt it will be used regularly as I prefer a bath so doesn't have to have the power of a sandblasting tank most people require.

    Anyone scared of heights?

"Heights" per se don't scare me I've climbed and abseiled enough things to prove this. However going up a ladder to gutter level on the house is hard, mainly the transition from the ladder to roof or vice versa, I also get the same feeling when starting an abseil or finishing a climb I guess...

average cost of a dog per year.

Probably £40-50 a month is the cost for our dog, fed on mainly dry biscuit and raw chicken, you need to be pretty careful what you feed huskies as they have a fairly sensitve digestive system. Sounds like you are buying a dog for all the wrong reasons though.

I assume this is a seasonal thing. I would just purchase a few sandbags and use when needed.

    Mc Donald's!

I don't ever start acting up in a restaurant until the food has arrived on my table/tray, I can 100% guarantee there was more protein in your meal than you were anticipating.

    Lovely smell

The smell of coal/wood smoke reminds me of winter at my parents farm. The smell of "Castrol R" always makes may day, lot's of racing memories, both spectating and competing.

    Leaking front door frame

MW - Roofline - 100% agree, again another issue I have brought up with the company to no avail, to be fair any door with an arched frame seems to cost a fair amount of money, it seems you are held to ransom by the few companies who actually have the forming equipment. Crank - I did suspect...
