    if a 3+1 gang could not lay more than 1000 in a day neatly then they are not bricklayers.not sure what rates they pay elsewhere in the country but i live in shropshire which borders staffordshire so the rates are about right for a gang.

    yes that is fine , another way is to fix a batten to the wall so the bottom of it is level with top of concrete and remove it the next day.

    a bit dear i think blocks £1 each bricks £360 per thousand insulation 50 pence per sheet .these are about the rates being paid now so for cash it should be a little cheaper. i would not bother having a go yourself could turn into an expensive mistake

    it was a long time since i was in college, but we used sand and lime mixed at 8 sand and one lime. be careful with the lime not nice in the eyes. easy to clean off the bricks and remix

    hi guys , i think the baring has gone on my hotpoint wma50P , it makes a dreadful noise on spin, when i took the top off there was a trace of oil all round the machine. how do i get to this part as the back does not come off this machine only the front and is it worth fixing or new machine ?

    hi all, i have a small job to do tomorrow it is about 5sqm bonding and skimming, here is the hard part it is about 30mm deep i need to be finished by 12pm does anybody have any short cuts, i said to the foreman to dab some boards on and skim but he wont have that need your help guys. :(

    use a scutch chisel it will clean it off much quicker. as woody said the dryer the better

    Re tile around upvc window

    you could leave the tiles on the cill and tile over them, but make sure you score the tiles underneath and allow plenty of time before grouting.
