    Cooker in Chimney Breast

Hi, I am planning on knocking my chimney breast out and fitting a cooker in it. Do I need some kind of extractor or can I just let the steam/etc just go up the old chimney? Its and electric cooker, the chimney used to have a gas boiler/fire in it so it has some kind of liner. Mick

    War against damp, whats next?

Its condensation. Not wet when its raining but gets wet when we are drying clothes or cooking. The problem is definitely because its too cold in there. I have seen it at 10 degrees C and this pushes the relative humidity up to 80%. Walls are cold to touch and doors are sticking because...

i know, its on my to do list. i reckon it will be pretty easy to fix. 1 Feed into 1 socket and 1 light. I presume I need a meter and just check the continuity? Funny thing is it trips with no light on and nothing plugged in, I will come back here when I get chance to look at it.

Trying to convert coalhouse into utility room.

I am trying to convert my coalhouse into a utility room but condensation/mould is holding me back. (the green staining is because water was running down the walls where the felt was rotten - now fixed) I have tried adding an airbrick and use a humidifier but there is often condensation...

    War against damp, whats next?

Not sure what you mean by plain tiles? They are the same as the original ones. What should they be? Cant see any water getting through the roof. Even if the tiles are no good, there is new membrane underneath. Neighbour has same tiles and pitch but says he does not have damp problem...
