    RSJ cross beam size?

Hi I'm busy renovating (still!! ) my old house. I've boarded out some of the loft for storing the odd bit of stuff but have now realised that when I'm walking about up there the livingroom ceiling is bouncing a bit which is ok now as it's a mess anyway at the min but I will be sorting it...

How thin can you screed on concrete if under insulation?

Hi I need a floor for my bathroom which is an old extension 2.5m x 5m built onto the back of my house (ground floor). At present its concrete which I presume must have been the back yard's deck judging by the extreme fall on the floor which all falls towards where the old yard gully was. Now...

Velux windows & flashing on a Fiberglass Roof?

Cheers! The windows probably made the job at least 3 times longer & more complicated than just doing a flat roof. Not sure I could be bothered to do it that way again but it's done now & I love the way it looks inside the bathroom :D

Velux windows & flashing on a Fiberglass Roof?

Problem sorted! Made some plywood window boxes with a 15 degree pitch so I only needed a small pitch on the roof and gained much needed ceiling height. Then just used the existing slate flashing kits on top of the DIY window curb boxes, then fixed GRP roofing trims etc over the top of the lot...

Any big difference between floor and wall Kingspan?

Just a quickie, is there any big difference between floor and wall Kingspan? In other words could I use the wall stuff to on top of concrete (DPM first), then 18mm ply sheets, then tiles? I know the floor stuff is supposed to be a bit more crush resistant or something so thought I best ask. I...

Best way of tackling this? (photos)

Thanks for all the replies everyone! :D Ive searched the back lane and can't find anything, I've also asked the neighbours on both sides as well who've lived there forever and still no joy afraid. Directly behind the tap is the property boundary wall and then a public alley. Servotech, I...

Best way of tackling this? (photos)

Hi I need to connect to a water supply, but the incoming supply is an ancient stop tap and lead pipe. First idea was to leadloc onto the pipe but it's been cut off rite next to the tap, very close to where the lead pipe widens out as it goes over the tap. So dose anyone know just how much...

How close dose a toilet need to be to a Soil Vent Pipe?

How close dose a toilet need to be to a Soil Vent Pipe to prevent siphoning of the U bend? I've Google'd this but can't seem to find the answer. I have a big problem positioning a soil vent on the outside wall to the toilet so was wondering if it could be Teed in a bit further down the run of...

Velux windows & flashing on a Fiberglass Roof?

Just realised I had a new reply. Thanks for the advise, I am considering curbing the windows now. At least that way I can reduce the pitch of the roof and gain a bit more headroom indoors. I think I might be able to use the gear i already have if I glass it in properly.
