    Alpha CB24/28 Losing Pressure

Hi there appears to be no PRV pipe going outside as i mentioned above. I can see the PRV valve but it is inline on the heating return pipe so i imagine if it were to blow/leak then it would just leak inside the airing cupboard!

Hi I'm hoping someone might be able to offer some advice. Our Alpha CB24/28 boiler is losing pressure overnight and needs continual topping up. In normal operation throughout the evening (going on and off every hour or so) it's fine, but if left for any considerable time ie over night...

    Cabling through Studwork with Kingspan

i was hoping to keep the insulation as thick as possible to help retain the heat as i'll probably be in there most eveings so anything that helps it keep warm is a plus :) The wokshop is just for my tinkering not a commerical one. The workshop has had armoured cable run to it buried...

Insulating Problem - Workshop roof with crossmember

due to the size of the roof (large 10m x 3m) and that its only going to be used occasionally(evenings & weekends) i don't want to spend an absolute fortune on the expensive foam insulation. because i'm using felt shingles i have to have them attached directly to the roof boards rather than...

Insulating Problem - Workshop roof with crossmember

Roof Trusses - Nail Plates or Ply Gussets?

sorry i dont think i fully understood your question before. I wasn't entirely sure what a "cut roof" was. I'm basically just making the roof frames at home on site as it were but just wasn't sure of the best method of screwing them all together. is it simply a case of using screws or would...

Roof Trusses - Nail Plates or Ply Gussets?

The problem is the walls aren't exactly parallel due to a narrowing drive so i need trusses so that the cross members can sit ontop of the header plates rather than cutting bird mouths into the rafters as the roof then wouldn't be level etc hope that kind of makes sense

Roof Trusses - Nail Plates or Ply Gussets?

I need to make 17 trusses for my timber workshop (10m long building based on 600mm centres). The trusses will span 3.4m and have a 18 degree pitch i've made a jig to cut all the wood angles but i'm still abit unsure about the best method to join them all together. Would it be ok to use...

Vapour Barrier - Staple or sealant or tape?

i'm going to be insulating my timber workshop shortly and i'm just wondering what is the best method for attaching the polythene vapour barrier to the the timber studwork? I've read various methods on different forums and am slightly confused is it ok to just staple it to the framework? or...
