    No i would say polyplumbs original overlay system is well worth thinking about , I'v fitted as retro option and it works fine, Does work different to having the pipes in a traditional screed system, it warm's up quicker but cools down quicker. Not a cheap option but well worth it in my opinion.

    If you chose to change it the rear heating section is just under £100 . if there is good acess to left side of boiler its about an hrs job to change.     I always use a little neutral cure silicone on washer, never leaks , always comes out easy and if its vented who wants to drink that anyway, even unvented lay gunge in the bottom after a while :-(.

    I think ya best option would be to fit a thermal store . solid fuel into it, combi into it, heating out of it , mains fed dhw via its coil :-)

    If u have reasonable water mains pressure have u considered a replacement mains fed stainless cylinder. no pumps required at all. very quiet to run & no large f/e cistern in loft.
