    Modifying wardrobes...

Nope - levels are out depth wise due to someone removing the chimney breast and not using a spirit level on the new joists. Basically floor dips/drops in the middle of the run. It is structurally sound, I would normally fix it but as it will be completely covered by the new robes I do not see...

    Modifying wardrobes...

Ah but at 5 per unit, on a run of 4 units I would require 20! and £11 x 20 equals £211  and they are going to be covered with skirting board I will of course be "firmly" fixing everything to the wall

    Modifying wardrobes...

Thanks for your input but as I explained above the floor is badly out of level building a plinth type structure would require serious packing and fiddling ......this is why I was hoping adjustable feet would work

    Modifying wardrobes...

How much    .......seriously though - I am building up approx. 8inch so that I can fit skirting board to match rest of room so nice though those are I think I will stick to cheaper plastic ones! .........this post was just to confirm that it would work, thanks...

Will adjustable kitchen base unit legs take the weight of a double base unit? or should I beef up the base first? I need to raise the units by 8inches

    Laying linoleum on concrete…

I recently retired, having spent over 30 years selling all types of flooring. Only once was a job ever installed using "lino" - it was an absolute nightmare, we ended up hiring in a very expensive fitter to do it. He promptly mucked it up very badly (and expensively). Lino was standard...

    Supastick getting it off.

simply using google results in (amongst over 2 million other results) ...........http://aft.webtechsystem.com/product.php?pid=25 your father needs to realise how futile it is to argue with your mum!!!!!! you need to stop posting the same query all over the net and to use google...

    Laying linoleum on concrete…

............your post is wrong in almost its entirety  is it lino or is it "sheet vinyl" - an important question..........You say later on it is lino but lino is a lot more expensive than vinyl so why would you choose it when cost appears to be an issue? the thickness of the walls...

Fitted Carpet Right or Wrong way.?

when updating a room folk always rip the gripper up - Why?? .........unless it is damaged leave it alone! "she" (the shop) is wriggling out of satisfying your complaint properly - do not accept it. Your contract was not with the fitters but the shop. You paid for stuff you haven't got. I...

Fitted Carpet Right or Wrong way.?

Well firstly I hope for your sake it was not carpetright you shopped at - once they have your money they lose all interest in you! to answer your question..... hopefully by "glue" you mean spray adhesive - if so YES it will lift and separate quite readily - if not then lifting it will...

    Plywood thickness on bathroom floor?

 you are correct. saw the word "click" and.......... their website was slower than I had time to wait for! stick to 6mm, ensure any joints are tight and fix down as above. use either ring shank nails (sized so they don't go through sub-floor) if you have wires or pipes you may...

    Plywood thickness on bathroom floor?

Sorry rodney your advice is incorrect! Ply should be fixed every 4inches around the edge and every 6inches elsewhere. Expansion joints must not be left (you are firmly fixing it down so it cannot expand anyway. Finally 6mm is the normal (actually I have never heard of 8mm)

    Plywood thickness on bathroom floor?

Your supplier should have a recommended solution. But - you are basically fitting laminate flooring which shouldn`t really require ply before the underlay which will be designed to even out small imperfections. usually on wooden subfloors fibreboard is used, however you are fitting this in a...

Installing Amtico over ply board - Terrible idea?

...........plus one! - get a fitter in NOT a builder!!!!!!!!(no one goes to the gynaecologist when their teeth hurt!) LVT is almost always fitted on 6mm ply - which can be installed over existing wooden sub-floor.......

Wood burning stove - flue requirements

depends where you obtain your wood..... up north I can get 3 square meters of seasoned and mainly hardwood logs for around £120, downside is moving them from drop-point to store point ...........this keeps me VERY warm!!!! pallets are freely available and only require cutting up - again a...
