By the looks of it they've stuck the panel onto the wooden supports with glue or sealant. Will have another poke at it and see if I can get it off.

It's the drying that's a problem for me. I don't have a tumble dryer hence the drying in the house over the winter. I guess the extractor fan being left on is the only option for us.
