    Alarm bell box squawking?

That's what I was thinking. Unlikely but possible I suppose.

    Alarm bell box squawking?

Would it be worth removing the battery completely to see if it stops making the squawking sound intermittently?

    Alarm bell box squawking?

Hi, If I use the LCD keypad to manually sound the alarm, it sounds as normal. Which seems odd! I thought given the bad weather recently that water might have blown in. That's possible but it seems dry in there. I suppose it could have got wet and dried out but been left damaged.

    Alarm bell box squawking?

I have an Acenta G4 alarm panel with an 8EP42 type bell box. Recently the bell box has started making random squawking noises intermittently. Tried powering it completely down and re energising it. The sounder works in test mode and no faults are shown on the panel. I had a look inside today...

    Baxi duotec 24 HE

https://www.heatingandcateringparts.com/product/baxi-duotec-24he-28he-33he-40he-magnetic-flow-switch-5114710/ Looks like this might be at fault. Cheap and easy fix. Is it worth trying to clean the old one?

    Baxi duotec 24 HE

Hi, I'm pretty sure there's no leaks on any of the pipes. The fault is intermittent so it sounds more likely to be a part out of those two options??

    Baxi duotec 24 HE

Cold it's at about 1.5 bar. When the heating is on it seems to slowly ramp up. It's sat at 2 bar now, the heating has been on for about 20 mins. At the moment it's showing the radiator symbol lit up, not the hot water. I've seen it go as high as 3 bar when there is call for heat. If I set the...

    Baxi duotec 24 HE

Noticed a bit of a strange issue with my boiler recently. It seems to fire even though the programmer is not calling for heat and no hot water taps are open. Looking at the boiler, the green led next to the Tap symbol is always illuminated. The burner kicks in every few minutes and then goes off...

    Brick piers

Cheers. I was just concerned because the peers are going to be as tall as the actual wall that they're sat on, if that makes sense?

    Brick piers

I've got a garden wall which is double skin and 8 courses heigh. It's got a built-up peer section in the middle where two sections of wall meet to form an angle. I'd like to build this pier up. I'd also like to extend the wall along to the right and and add another pier/columns at the end. The...

    Mortar bed depth..

That makes sense. I suppose you'd have to get the mortar fairly level before placing the bricks down onto it as its going to be less easily compressed once there sat in place? Was also just wondering about shimming it up? Is that possible? I've seen slate used in old walls. Or, maybe lay the...

    Mortar bed depth..

Cheers. When you say stiffer do you mean more cement in the mix? would you go thicker than 25mm if needed or is that about the limit? If its more Im thinking I can always make the second course a little bit thicker as well to get it bang on Cheers.

    Mortar bed depth..

Hi. I am extending a double skin garden wall and want to cut the new bricks into the existing wall. I want the first course of the new part of the wall to be 1 course lower than the original wall as it will be easier to keep the footings bellow the soil level. Basically I've pored a concrete...

    Sound insulation

I've got proper Rockwool. What would you use to fix the boards to the timber?

    Sound insulation

I'm in the process of building a shed/man cave. It's 5.5 X 2.5 m2 and constructed from timber. Due to budget constraints the floor joists sit on top of 22 equally spaced concrete piers. I've been collecting Rockwool insulation slabs to use in the walls and ceiling. I've used celotex in the...

    Sound insulation

Looking for input from people who have experience of sound insulating rooms. I have built a garden room which is a 4x2 timber framed construction with a suspended floor of 7x2 joists sat on concrete piers. The room is to be a music room for listening to music and playing music in. I play in...

    Gabion basket patio. Balustrade?

I've got no idea what that means. What makes you think I was planning to 'nail' anything on as an 'afterthought'? As I stated in my original post I, I haven't started the patio extension yet. This is very much a preliminary thought. It's called planning. Not really sure what you are trying...
