Never ever use a normal hair brush with waterbased glosses & eggshells, Always use a synthetic brush such as a Purdy or one of the new Johnstone's Fat Hog brushes. If you want a non yellowing from a gloss or eggshell always use an Acrylic based gloss or eggshell

You haven't heard it from me but there is a dodgy batch of Solvite ready mixed paste about, we've had 2 complaints of wallpaper shrinking at the edges, both of them with Solvite paste

Or get it done even quicker with a 15 inch roller, pole & scuttle :wink:

Your not wrong there, very rare for a tradesman to use it

For even better results leave the plastic pipes to weather for a year, then give them a coat of gloss, it will last for years.

johnstones do a creosote substitute called Creocote

1. 2" or 1 1/2" which ever you feel comfortable with 2. Johnstones Ultra gloss, but forst use an oil based woodprimer then johnstones new Ultra undercoat 3. follow the grain 4. 14 to 16 hours between coats

Sorry about bumping this up but 4800 colours, if only life was this simple. The Johnstone's new system32 tinting machines do at least 15,000 colours.

And never ever thin down retail quality paints 8)
