Hi Peter Checked the resistance across the Glow Plugs by placing probe on negative battery terminal and positive on the tip of the glow plug and they all read 1.7 Ohms! Is his normal?

Dear All Voltage across each Glow plug was measured at 12.45V is this normal? Also changed glow plug control unit BUT MIL light still on even after resetting the codes.

Dear All Thanks for the replies but are the Glow Plugs easy to remove? I have heard that they tend to shear of at the Nut end when trying to unscrew them?

Hi John Glow plug light does not flash but is harder to start then normally! The Glow Plug symbol appears when ignition is on and then after a few seconds turns off. That is the point at which i try and start the car. If it was a Glow plug issue would the ECU not identify the offending glow...

Yes have replaced the Ariel Amplifier but sound still the same. Ariel element incorporated into rear windscreen heating element all looks fine, all connections seem fine no cracked solder joints etc.

Hi Mursal / John, Impellar has not come loose but John is right the bearings have collapsed as the shaft can be moved 60 Degrees either way!!! The spring is still there on the unit and the Mechanic said he fished out most of the Metal Impeller bits that he could!!

Yeah unbelievable!!!!! Destroyed pump has some indistinguishable marking on it!! FI something!!!

Estimate that the pump has done approximately 23K Miles since renewal!!!!

Right Folks, the task was beyond my technical expertise so got a pro to do it! He found that the Pump bearing had disintegrated!!! He advised that if the car had travelled another 20 Yards then the timing belt which had moved a few sprockets would have definitely caused Piston / Valve damage...

Sure will do John, Hopefully will also take a pic of the failed pump!!!

Not 100% sure but belt looks OK and properly tensioned still and Son did say he switched engine off whilst water was spewing out! Tempo Gauge did not show as going into the Red Zone either!
