    Can I improve on this......

If that is a door, there should be an end panel/fillet to accommodate the skirting. Anyhow, if you can't do that, leave it without skirting and finish it as best as you can. The only skirting that can be cut straight without a mitre is the square profile which is not your case.

London one of safest cities in the world

No, I don't think so. I think we need a mayor (and a PM) with large attributes and stamp out all crime. Looking at Giuliani's administration as an example or Bukele in El Salvador: they had the guts to put anarchists and leftists to one side and enforce the law. Unfortunately in this country...

London one of safest cities in the world

That's great news if you don't live in London. If you do, you can see with your own eyes the shythole this once great city has become. Maybe they're just considering the central square mile of London. Murders might be down, but what about all other crimes actually affecting the population? The...

    Can I improve on this......

You need a plinth at the bottom of the cabinet and a piece of the same taller skirting butted up to it. Mitted to join the external corner of course. As it is it will not look ok when painted. In fact, all joints should be mitred; who's done that? Not a carpenter I hope.

2/3 British voters believe lies about immigration

Could it be that a lot more people are now classed as asylum seekers rather than illegal immigrants, so the number of the latter naturally goes down? What's the trend for asylum seekers...More? Less? Same as previous years?

    Engine-oil analysis

Yes, where did all went wrong? We used to have cars easily running 200k miles. My friend had a Mercedes 300 (gold colour) which run 1 million kilometres. 1 million! Yes, it was in a temperate climate and he was obsessed with maintenance, but what engine would run 1 million kilometres now? And...

Replacing Parquet with LVT Flooring - BC Required?

BC doesn't need contacting. Check the lease of your flat, just in case it's got some restrictions on the kind of floor you can install, although I have only seen restrictions regarding hard floor which you already have, so it should be fine.

Tiling on top of floorboards...no choice...advice needed please

No, you're selling, so get them down and forget about it. Besides, if the floorboards are solid, the tiles don't move. I've taken up 40 year old tiles stuck on floorboards and they were perfectly fine. Modern adhesive doesn't seem to last as long.

Do you feel sorry for ripped-off customer?

I don't get many spam calls anymore, the scammers must've blacklisted me. Whenever they call I tell them to go feck themselves and put the phone down. Then the next one gets "I told you to go feck yourself. Did you manage to do that?". They put the phone down... Best one is the text scam about...

Do you feel sorry for ripped-off customer?

In today's world where every day we hear about these scams, I don't believe that people caught out are intelligent. I agree that the love scam is easier to fall for if one is desperate and lonely, seen on TV many times. My friend's wife died at 60 and a couple of years later he got together with...

Do you feel sorry for ripped-off customer?

I don't classify them as "intelligent". Someone calls you out of the blue and asks you to transfer money to a random bank account or buy gift cards... Sounds like a scam to me...

Do you feel sorry for ripped-off customer?

I don't think that's the reason. Senility plays a very good part on this sort of scam.
