Also when the c/h turn off should the pump stop work or carry on?

hi there, I just replaced the pump on my c/h and bleed all the rads through but there are 2 of them down stairs the are only warm and the are on either side of a wall. So why could this be? :lol:

would you replace the valves anyway,because they are 10 years + old Also what do you use to undo them at the moment i have a monkey wrench or do you use a pump nut spanner?

hi there people, I am trying to get the pump off of my c/h system but the valve nuts are siezed on,so i was wondering what is the best way of getting these of? Cheers dazz :cry:

also i left the c/h on for a while to see if anything happened and found the the bathroom rad got warm which is the closest to the hot water cylinder and the next rads along the inlet pipe was warm and the next on from that was slightly warn and then from there they were cold. So what would...

right just had a look at the mid position valve and got someone to call c/h and h/w at different times to see if the valve moved to the right positions and it did so does this count that out then? Also do you think i should get the pump of and give it a good clean out? I look forward to hear...

well sorry again for late reply i try bleeding the rads and they all seem to shoot water but it aint black,and i took another look at the pump with a torch like i did the first time and still cant see a thing because it constantly drips water,i gently stuck a small screwdriver in there to see if...

i have been having the same problems with mine,which is the same model as yours but the boiler is firing up fine but and we are getting hot water ok but the rads dont workis that what happen with you last year? :lol:

right very sorry about the late reply been very busy,anyway managed to get the bolt out but couldnt see anything in there and had a constant drip of water and the bolt had a splined end on it. Anyway the boiler has been ok in giving us hot water all the time but still no radiators heating up...

well i undid it it had a bolt head on it water dripped out (dirty) and i tried pulling it out but it wouldnt come out :lol: and i didnt want to go and mess it up totally :wink:

The tanks seem to be full the big one clean but the small one does have a fair bit of crud in the bottom,i undid the screw on the pump oin the middle of the pump and a few drips come out all be it dirty. I couldnt get the screw out so i couldnt tell you if the spindle was going around or...

sorry for the late reply again,but the pump is not making any noise but is very hot,but the pipes that run downwards to the valve from it are coldish and the pipes running up high are hot. I tried the test with the valve and it seems ok. I havent had a chances to get in the loft and check the...

oh yes the imersion heater is off, If the pump is siezed what can i do with it for the time being so it dont cause a fire? or something

cool thanks for the info,now i tried the test on the valve and tried turning the c/h and h/w on and off at the controler and the lever moves fine so it aint that. So could it be the pump coz the heating still aint working and the pump is still boiling hot to the touch

sorry i havent got back to ya but it is like the one on the right and i tried the lever again and it wont move? Also the pump has a boiling hot casing is this right? Is it easy to change the valve? Thanks for all the help

i have got the boiler working again now,the pilot light lights up,but the heating doesnt seem to want to heat up now? It seem i only have 1 valve on the system
