Clean out 'the hole 'in front of main sewer pipe its usually a U type bend trap. Where all the stones coming from ?.

Ok My column rads have the flow on the left as there is a baffle in them .Did the rad ever work ?I know you never put it in but if you know the sellers might be worth asking >.

Do you know what side the flow is on ?,still think its a baffle thing :) Not long to January and I'm sure your Dad will sort it.

Yes usually a sticker. Might be best to close the rad off and drain it down then open valves individually to see if they are working .

Your valves are bi-directional so doesn't matter what side they are on. Is the flow on the same side as the radiator that works ?. Usually a label with an arrow on it to show flow direction on back of rad.

Just looked at the picture of your radiator . Are you sure its pipped up correctly ,some column rads need the flow on the left hand side as there is a baffle inside ,there may be an arrow on back to show flow direction.

Yes tap the side of valve ,I think its stuck down .

Give the valve on the cold side of the rad a few taps with a spanner . When you had the rad off the wall did you cap the valves off ?.

Have you tried pushing the pins up and down .Sometimes they stick down if they have been off for a while .

If you've screwed it all the way in (clockwise) ,have you not turned it off ? Loosen it of with tap open and see if water flows ..

Thanks for replies . Looking to shorten a greenhouse so wanted a replacement for the base ,that attaches to greenhouse . I just wondered rather than buy a new base and then cut to size ,where to buy a few lengths of the formed steel. Ive looked at ebay ect but cant see anything pre formed .

Watch out the radiators don't need the flow to a specific side ,some of these column rads have a baffle inside .

Run a cold tap in the kitchen and listen to the pipe ,use a large screwdriver with tip against the pipe and handle to your ear .

I still get the frights with this one . Shopping in B&Q with six year old daughter .A workmate was on display with a bit of wood in the clamps and a saw ,left cut half way through the wood . I must have wandered off for stuff as when I came back daughter had proudly sawn through the wood, one...

Does anyone know of a joinery shop that hires out or charges to use there industrial planers or sanders (in the Kent area ) Seems its a usual thing in America to bring your slab in and get it sanded down but I cant find anything on the web .
