Very high BTU radiator recommendations for heat pump

Another vote against vertical rads. I moved into my small 1930s semi in 2019. It's a bit leaky and doesn't have cavity walls but it has a 24kW boiler which should be ample; and indeed the first-floor horizontal rads get toasty quickly. But the three vertical ones on the ground floor are...

In praise of the Wago L60 wiring centre

Ha, CBW! It's -ZV as in "to zone valve". Swwils, yes I understand they used to do a smaller one which wasn't successful.

In praise of the Wago L60 wiring centre

I hate all previous wiring centres: too cramped, too difficult to see what goes where, too easy to dislodge one connector while adding another to screw terminals. So the new(ish) Wago L60 is wonderful: spacious, easy to use 221-type lever connectors, everything well thought out.

Any garden lighting brands to recommend?

Belated thanks, SFK. Very helpful. Yes the 230V supply is properly protected. A few months ago I had some electricians replace my consumer unit with an all-RCBO one and replace the existing feed to garage, and extend the latter to a garden room beyond. Garage feed is 10mm SWA off a 40A RCBO...

Any garden lighting brands to recommend?

There don't seem to be any recent posts on this. I'm considering a variety of 12v or 24v LED lights for my long thin garden: downlighters on fences, an uplighter under a tree, maybe some lights on pillars. Ideally would like 230v but that would mean either unwieldy SWA or NYY-J cabling needing...

What is this mains pressure cold water tank?

Thank you everyone for your replies - much appreciated. It's clearly a cold water accumulator. Odd as there really isn't a pressure issue hereabouts.

What is this mains pressure cold water tank?

Excuse ignorance but...I bought my 1930s North London semi last year. There is a gas boiler with a pressurised central heating system and pressurised hot water cylinder, and mains pressure cold water. On the top floor, converted from an attic into a bedroom and bathroom by the previous owners...

Precise meaning of PD rule about outbuildings not over 2.5m high?

Well no because there are separate stipulations about max eaves height of 2.5m and max overall height of 3 or 4m depending on roof type. But thanks for troubling to reply.

Precise meaning of PD rule about outbuildings not over 2.5m high?

Ah. Thanks; very helpful. Yes I've considered applying for Planning Permission; as you say 300mm is not a big deal and it's not a Conservation Area or anything (though as it happens there are two Conservation Areas within a couple of hundred metres).

Precise meaning of PD rule about outbuildings not over 2.5m high?

The government planning portal stipulates in respect of outbuildings under Permitted Development: "Maximum height of 2.5 metres in the case of a building, enclosure or container within two metres of a boundary of the curtilage of the dwellinghouse." Does this no part at all of such a structure...

CH pressure fluctuating rapidly with vibrating noise

Keston C40 (don't mock: running perfectly 10 years on), S-plan. It started kettling around last November, or so I thought (no experience). A dose of Sentinel X200 quietened it a bit, or so I thought. Gave it a second dose. No real change. Eventually realised it was not the boiler at all, not...

Can anyone recommend a bath waste pump or similar for this?

Thanks; that's helpful although I think I'll try to get a 230v solution if I can.

Can anyone recommend a bath waste pump or similar for this?

It has just occurred to me that there might be just enough room, or I might be able to make enough room, to site a pump such as the smallest Grundfos one under the bath head itself. But suggestions for a solution in the roof space would still be very welcome.

Can anyone recommend a bath waste pump or similar for this?

I have a small, cramped top-floor bathroom. The bog and basin are adjacent to the plasterboard wall to the adjoining roof space, which is shown in the pic below. The bath waste, bog overflow and basin waste all feed into the main bog waste, which adjoins the soil stack just to the right of the...
