    OK need some assurance with my HTG diverter please

    Hi From what I know/have learned: If power to white wire but no HTG then the motor has failed and needs replaced/or the powerhead will need replacing If the manual lever does not return then the spindle must be sized up so the whole valve needs replacing (so drain down the system to do this).

    while i think of it - can normal white silicone sealant be used to seal a basin waste outlet? or is the clear type better for this? i have heard silicone sealant is much better than putty ... so for future i will remember and do this...

    it's weird. sometimes new taps do have loose parts inside (cnot fully 100% tightened). other than that maybe a buit of grit in the tap body? leave it on full blast for about 10 seconds to try and flush it out??

    hang on the external stopcock will be in the pavement or somewhere just outside the property. your own stopcock should be somewhere like under the kitchen sink/near where the water enters your property.

    apologies your tap won't have a circlip if it's a rising spindle type with a gland nut. as seco said maybe the jmumper plate is loose or the washer assembly part if it's a fixed jumper tap which most are nowdays? try taking the headgear part out and tightening all the parts up....

    hmm. even though you have a shared supply you are supposed to be guaranteed a decent pressure. i'd call them and ask as you are by law supposed to get at least 1 bar pressure (although this is not v. good)...:(

    i use a normal adjustable basin wrench to undo tap backnuts, tap connectors also when required and it can be difficult and slips a bit. especially if there is not much space and you have to do it by "feel" I have heard jaw drops are good? anyone ever used these before and where to get them...
