Just like all the others ive seen. That orrible self adhesive tape goes on the day before final inspection and comes off 2 minutes after BCO leaves. So to be precise no, yes, no. I will be bored if I get "its there for a reason"

    Worst decision ever!

Ive read that moss doesnt like copper and fixing a strip to the ridge on a roof would stop it growing. Maybe you could find something like a wire to tack to the top of the wall to create a similar solution.

    Mixing Screed

The best way I have found of describing how to get the mix right is, if you roll up a cricket ball size of screed then try to split it half like a terrys chocalote orange. If its too wet your fingers will just dig in, if its too dry it will just crumble, if its just right it will cleanly...

Alternating space saving stairs made from Oak worksurface

Thanks for the comments. With the handrails its not as bad as you think. My 3 year old doesnt have any problems with it. I did a bit of bargaining with someone from ebay who had some oak work tops that had some edge damage. It was no problem to hide the knicks as it was cut up into small...

Wetroom with shower screen that lights up.

As promised heres a couple of photos of my wetroom. The glass is 20mm thick, recessed into the wall and floor and is lit by an 12v smd led rope. Its a trial light for now and has proved it should be a bit lighter and bright blue!! or red or green or a combination. More to follow...

Help With Tiny L Shaped Wetroom

I would imagine this is the main family bathroom? If kids are involved and they cant use your ensuite Id be thinking of a way of keeping a bath. If you go with a shower I would go with your first option because you dont want to walk through a wet floor just to get to the loo. AstonMatthews do...

    Fixing Steel To Concrete Floor

Use chemibolts. They either come in a glass thimble or more ofter a two part adhesive in a silicon type tube. Squeeze the adhesive into the hole and drop in some studding. That way you will not put extra stress on the concrete. But 250kg free standing glass panel!!!!!. How wide is you track...

Filling hollows under glued wood flooring

Ive layed engineered wood but in a couple of places I have hollows. Ive used BAL92 to glue the floor down onto screed with wet ufh. However I have a couple of hollows that are large enough to annoy me. Is there a way of filling these. Ive thought of using a syringe and drilling small holes for...

    SMD LED 12v through 1mm

Im sold on SMD LED rope lighting. I bought some as a back light for some stairs but tried it out under the kitchen units and Im amazed to say the light is just like Halogen!! I love the light and as its only 10mmx 4mm its extremely versatile and dissapears into tiny places, it can even be placed...

    Skirting and architrave styles

Just completed mine. I used a wickes ogee, turned round and painted the back. This gave me a square skirting. I found it less hassle and just as cheap as getting it cut. i used mdf because of warping. For the architrave I used the same as the door stops, 1.5"x 0.5". On the door stop side I...

How hard is it to install a door frame in a stud wall?

Ive just done this for first time on 5 doors and found the only tricky questions I needed to ask myself were; what height to fix the frame and what gap between the door and door stops did I need. For fixing the frame I did exactly as above. Ive read "never adjust the frame to the door", well, if...
