    GlowWorm Hideaway Hot Water Problems

The switch in the airing cupboard that lights up is the motorised valve that was mentioned by agile. That is where the problem is, you will need to get someone to replace the head of it or at least check it and find out what is wrong with it. It has got a name on it, when you phone them tell...

New home, new boiler, excessive noise

I forgot to mention you probably have a faulty thermostat too.

New home, new boiler, excessive noise

It may be the pump that is making the noise, When the boiler switches off, especially heating, the pump should carry on for about 2 or 3 mins then switch off. If that coincides with the noise then it means the pump is on it way to the pearly gates. On hot water the pump is on but probably only...

Not had to do one of these but it may be a case of turning thro slightly more than 90deg counter clockwise, and then lifting off. Or go to there web site and get there contact details and ask them how its done.

New home, new boiler, excessive noise

I can't understand why you mention the extractor fan. Is this an open vented version, do you have airing cupboard and pump and tanks in the loft etc Without knowing whether a combi or system or conventional open vented further suggestions are too lengthy.

    Confusing problems with heating system

It is possible, since I have seen it, to powerflush a house including hot water cylinder pipe work; and then find that although system is left perfectly clean particles of baked sludge still appear in the magnetic filter. This have been found to come from the inside of the pipe in the coil...

Biasi slowly losing pressure, but slightly different...

The symptom you describe with air coming out of the hot water tap is a new one on me. As long as you are getting at least 3 litres /min from hot tap the secondary heat exchanger is ok. The only possibility is air is being sucked into hot water line by a ventury action. Something is causing it...

    Confusing problems with heating system

Beware of sentinel x800 if it is not thoroughly removed after use until water is clean; if some of it is left in the system it turn to a gel and can cause blockages.

Gas pipe under concrete floor in kitchen

Any mix will have a corrosive effect on copper, the pipe should be of the correct dia too, for the job it has to do, then it needs to be completely protected from touching any cement based product, right up to the point where it leaves the floor. Trim off the protection after the floor is...

    Air locking shower

Best guess is the pipe to shower comes out of the surrey fitting from wrong outlet, Usually the outlet for the shower is the horizontal out tapping, is yours like that?

    Boiler change

You didn't mention were the condensate was going or was that the overflow, normally the pressure relief discharge pipe is the overflow.

Pump constantly running - no boiler demand

Sounds like the boiler is doing something it shouldn't. you need to get the wiring and the boiler checked by either an electrician or a suitably qualified gas safe engineer. The boiler gives the pump a 2 minute pump overrun and it could be faulty PCB.

PRESSURE PROBLEMS WITH A WORCESTER 24LE 24CDI COMBI

The pressure will rise when system heats up and fall when the system(rads) cool down. The amount it rises and falls depends on the number of rads you have. if the pressure gets to 3 bar then it will discharge water out of the 15mm pipe (the pressure relief discharge valve opens). You do not...

    Pump or just capacitor?

New pump head needed, sorry no easier answer, The resistance to stopping it turning is quite high, higher than you describe. capacitor won't make any difference, that is used to absorb the current while the motor builds up speed.

    cistern tank water not heating

That is the best way for sure and if its blocked cut out that section and replace it, Then get the system cleaned.

    cistern tank water not heating

If the flow and return pipe to the hot water cylinder are only 15mm instead of 22mm then one of them could be blocked with sludge.

It is very difficult to remove baked on sludge from inside the small plate HEX I have tried and if paying someone to do it its cheaper to replace it.

    cistern tank water not heating

Get someone qualified in oil you can get carbon monoxide poisoning from any fossil fuel that burns even the smoke from a bonfire.

    baxi 105e

the problem is that sludge has built up in the secondary heat exchanger, the small one that makes hot water. you should have a magnaclene fitted on the return pipe to the boiler. You will need to replace the secondary heat exchanger to cure the problem, and preferably get the system clean before...
