Anyone know the safe min temp for polypipe fittings? cannot seem to find anything on their website. Got plastic polyplumb pipes running in a groove channelled into external cavity wall. The pipes are joined by a 90 degree elbow. There is a small gap in the wall behind the pipe so that you can...

Pressure Equalising Valve with bath/shower diverter

Would a pressure equalising valve be effective as an anti-scalding device in a (non-thermostatic) shower / bath / diverter combination . Hot water from combi and cold from mains. I had a quick chat with a lad on our street (plumber by trade) and he told me not too worry about it - something...

Screwing into dot and dabbed plasterboard

Cheers for that.... was thinking dot and dab since the walls are a bit of a mess and building a frame to get backerboard / aquaboard flush would take me about a year to do I reckon - was hoping to get things level using extra adhesive where required on the dips in the walls From what I...

Screwing into dot and dabbed plasterboard

Cheers for the reply -- was looking to use (MR) plasterboard then tank / cover in a waterproof membrane before tiling. Would that not offer decent protection? Or is it a million miles away from proper backer board?
