    Is a Pat qualification essential

I'm sure he does know I think it is me that didn't understand, I suppose it would come under Part P and building regs, and it sounds as though it would be easier to just get in a qualified electricion? Just needed what the legal requirements are for domestic electrics

    Is a Pat qualification essential

I don't know to be honest...... I asked him if he would do the job and he said 'yes but I am not Pat qualified and would not be able to give you a certificate'! I assume he means he would not be qualified to test his work.

    You professionals wouldn't approve but..........

I need to decorate below my dado due to some maintainance in the fireplace recess. I really don't want to remove the paper and radiators etc. to redecorate the whole room, it is a big lounge dining and it doesn't need replacing yet. It is a good quality neutral paper (not vinyl but has a soft...

    discontinued wallpapers

My supplier is Leyand and they said not available full stop, but good look with your internet search! The paper was manufactured by Zen Wallpapers Ltd in Lancashire, there is no web address and from what I found it seems that they have gone into receivership so not a chance, but thanks Zampa

    Ripped wallpaper - any advice?

Take a piece of wallpaper and tear it to any shape but large enough to cover the damaged area, you will then end up with a feathered edge stick the patch onto the area to be repaired matching any pattern.

    patterned concrete

Yeah it's only concrete isn't it. They stamp the pattern in by walking on rubber mats then throw a dye on in powder form which liquifies when it hits the wet cement, then varnish. My neighbour had one done I watched them, the colour was only on the surface and the protective coating was...

    patterned concrete

I have some companies coming around this weekend to give me estimates for a patterned or embossed concrete drive. It is a large area the length of the house (although only a modest semi detatched) and around the back, are there any downsides to this I need to be aware of and roughly how much...

    Scanner problems

Yes you are right it was a 5 min job and I did intend doing it myself even though I know very little about the inner workings of a PC, but when I went to purchase the new memory he offered to do it for me whilst I waited for £25. I watched him do it and he certainly didn't interfere with the...

    Scanner problems

Hi I have a mictrotec V6USL scanner which has worked for the past 4 years without much trouble. Last week I took my PC in for a memory upgrade and since then the PC recognises that a scanner should be installed but the scanner detector cannot cannot find it. removing artex from my walls

I once removed all the artex off a living room with an industrial wallpaper stripper and it did a good job, very messy though. The artex had layers of silk emulsion on but this is easily removed once the steam has softened it. I couldn't be bothered to sand the walls after so I hung some...
