Please can anyone help? I would like to fit a mains halogen light in my work room the one I had in mind has 6 GU10 50W adjustable bulbs, is mains supply 240v and is dimmable. Would this amount of light be adequate for a 12 square metre room, and would a 600w dimmer be sufficant or should...

Hi, I have a Glowworm gravity fed back boiler, installed about 12 years ago. This replaced an old boiler of the same type so the pipes and radiators are quite old. This new boiler and the old one of 25 years (only changed it to upgrade the fire front) worked fine until I had to replace a...

Your lady sounds like my husband pedanticvindictiveman, he says ask the wife I haven't got a clue!!!!!!!! I have found that younger tradesmen are much happier to pass on knowledge, the older school don't always like it, I have learned when to back off and keep a discreet distance.

Just checked his advert again he states "CORGI/ACOPS trained".TRAINED as opposed to REG. is this a play on words. Yes I suspect the problem will re-occur and it did cross my mind to ask about putting in an extra vent point but at the time I just wanted rid and did not intend putting any more...

OK. The plumber turned up this afternoon (not very busy I wonder why) it took me 20 min to convince him there is no valve on a gravity feed, went into the loft asked him to show me, he couldn't. Wanted to check pump and drain cock under the floor told him it wasn't there either. He said the vent...
