Controlling my heating and hot water?

Or if you dont want to faff with wiring the room stat, you can fit trvs to the rads if they already dont have some. Then each room can be controlled as required. Also with it drained down, you can add inhibitor too. Or do both, room stat and trvs! Cover hot tank if you already havnt, or it...

Combi boiler takes days to come on

I would be amazed if your heat exchanger isnt cracked. You have IMO, one of the worse, baldy designed boilers I have had to work on. As above, the pressure switch may be clogged, get it changed for a new one.

Baxi combi 105 HE no lights on boiler

What valves and what pressure. Certainly NOTHING to do with the gas, and most likely water. So you have established that the fuse spur has power gping to it, and the boiler has water. So it could be. No power at the boiler No Gas at the boiler 1000 other different things What we do...

10mm or not 10mm that is the question...

and to finsh it off, use some inhibitor and fit a filter. Seem to spend a lot of times with a foot pump and 8mm/10mm microbore clearing blockages.

    vokera 24 compact lockout

i've had 3 do the same, try; 1/ is it cross lighting fully, get him to check the soft light b/p, try increasing it slightly. I once had one where all the injectors were blocked. 2/ check the flue, once had once corroded half way up, causing it to go to lock out as the aps wasnt making...

Turning off gas at mains (new boiler)

i would argue turning the ECV on and off all the time would cuase a leak, or maybe even lock the meter out if your unlucky. Just turn the timer off, and leave it be. Your boiler may have a anti-sieze function on it, which if you tuner the gas off, will cause it to lockout.

    Changing lights

yup, At the momemt the bedroom light came from b&q and has 5 x 30w candle bulbs in it. Can I just run some flex from this fitting (so putting the L/N/E into the connectors of the light fitting, to power my new light fitting in the room off the bedroom (new light fitting has 3 gu10 halogens...

    Changing lights

I wonder if it would be simpler to just get some 3 core flex, and use the L/N/E fromthe bedroom light fitting to power the new fitting. Would this work? Then both lights would come on and off at the same time, ideal for me. I could then use the single light transformer to highlight...

    Changing lights

O, I am a gas safe engineer so know some basic electrics, but want to check this out first. IN the room off from my bedroom, there is a single halogen light. This switches on and off via a switch on the wall (funnily enough) From what I can see, the wire from the light switch goes up to a...
