Landlords safety cert - how much is reasonable?

I need to get a landlord safety certificate done on a flat in outer SW London. There is a boiler, and no other gas appliances. British Gas were supposed to be coming to do it for £25, but the service is so shoddy, that I have had to cancel it. I am now looking for a local person to do it...

    Megaflo help please!

Many thanks, it seems to have worked! It took about 15 minutes to drain in total. The water now seems to have stopped discharging. It is hard to tell as the wall is marked where it has been coming out recently. The wall feels a little damp, but is not soaked as it was previously. :)

    Gaining certification of rewiring

Thanks for the advice. I have no issue with the quality of the work. It was done coming on for two years ago, and everything seems to have been done correctly. I am just concerned that it may cause me a problem when I come to sell the property in the future. Adam - what does PIR stand...

    Gaining certification of rewiring

We had our house rewired in 2005. The electrician that we used said that he was 'Part P' competent, and this is all that we would need to ensure that our installation was compliant. He did not issue a certificate, and I have since phoned the NICEIC, and they have no record of him being...

    PIR light for garage

I am looking to put a PIR security light on my garage. Most of the ones available are designed to be connected to a light switch. Is it possible to connect these to a standard, three pin plug socket? This is the only power source I have got in the garage.

    Megaflo help please!

I had a Megaflo cylinder installed about a year ago. It appears to have some sort of 'waste' pipe that ejects water/steam everytime the cylinder is in use. The problem is that this pipe has been installed right against the outside wall of my house, so every time I turn the system on, it...

Further TV aerial socket - distribution amp required?

I have heard that the roof mounted amp is always the best route if you can do it. Having said that, I bought a cheap 3 way splitter (£10-£15 at Maplin), and it feeds three TVs in different rooms with no discernible qulaity loss.

    Stopping water getting into garage

I have a garage at the bottom of my garden. The garage floor is about 2 feet below the level of the garden, and there are three steps leading down from the garden into a door at the back of the garage. Obviously, the steps collect water, as they are lower than the rest of the garden. The...
