hi how about terminating the wiring in the said stop end box and the fitting a "greg/click" ceiling rose. the light could then be flexed and consequently unplugged for maintenance...the code for the rose is pcr2000 i think :shock:

hi you could run a conduit to behind the light using a "stop end" box (1 entry) then you would drill a 20mm hole in the back and tube out to the light. it would probably be easier to run a small piece of flexible conduit from the light and connect it to a through box on the inside.....does...

hi as chri5 rightly says anything straight will /may pop the seal between the skirt and the wall, so the "bendy bar" really is the only way to go. as i say, if there is flooring in the way you can punch straight through it and reverse knock the bar out with pliers 8)

hi i have seen the 17th edition osg draft, there is no definitions. it tells you to refer to part 2 of bs 7671. when ever a new regs come out a sheet will follow telling you where to strike out mistakes and add wording. i think its called an addendum or errata or something (help me out here...

hi john protection from electric shock is acheived by earthing and fuse/breaker protection.... the earthing of stuff is essential for safety, the scenario is.... 1 you isolate and remove remove the boiler 2 some of the pipework ends up disconnected from earth due to 1 3 a live wire...

no nothing like that :D i am an electrician turned author who has said that daisy chaining pipes under boilers with clamps and 4mm earths is unnessary. one of my purchasers raised the point to me. if a plumber removes the boiler, he could be potentially making the installation lethal...
