Yes £850 labour, ive had to supply everything. Ive had a fernox tf1 fitted to a boiler in another house for 3-4 years and no leaks. You can buy the o rings service kit for £2 from plumb center.

Has my gas engineer fitted my fernox tf1 the right way

Yeh he was cheap. Charged me £850 to fit boiler to do all the central heating pipework from scratch, hang 7 rads and new gas supply. I suppose you get what you pay for.

Yes i may do that. Hes come back and hes put the tf1 the right way round after telling him how to do it and has moved the wireless box to the other wall under the boiler still not ideal but its away from the sink. Thanks for your advice.

Has my gas engineer fitted my fernox tf1 the right way

Too right he's lazy. He was supposed to come round today to correct it but he called instead to say if he turns the filter arrow around it will take more space, i don't see how as all he has to do is spin the manifold around. I think hes trying to talk me out doing it. Also hes got loads...

Has my gas engineer fitted my fernox tf1 the right way

Also can it be rotated 180 degrees so arrow points down or will it only go as far as the horizontal position so 90 degrees only?

Has my gas engineer fitted my fernox tf1 the right way

Yeh i thought so. So its a matter of taking filter off and unclipping the metal part pull it away from main body and rotate 180 degrees push back into the main body and push clip back in and reconnect it the filter? I will make him do it before i pay him for the whole job.

Has my gas engineer fitted my fernox tf1 the right way

Ive had the gas engineer back to the job and hes telling me hes turned something around inside and that it doesn't matter if the arrow is the wrong way. Is he talking a load of bs? Also is the wireless thermostat receiver ok near the sink (see pic) where there's a risk of water splashing...

Has my gas engineer fitted my fernox tf1 the right way

Yes i though so. What would happen if its wasn't turned round? Wouldnt the tf1 catch any of the dirt? Also i will get him to change the position of the wirless thermostat receiver as its too close to where the sink is going to be and may get water on it.

Has my gas engineer fitted my fernox tf1 the right way

Just had new boiler fitting and just had a question regarding tf1 filter. The filter is fitted on the return pipe, the pipe is coming down from the ceiling then up into the boiler. The gas engineer has fitting the arrow on the tf1 filter pointing up towards the ceiling and i thought the arrow...

Brick arch dropped while replacing upvc window

Just had a quick question regarding lintel. I was wonder if i can use a steel or galvanised flat bar lintel to support the bricks above the window rather than and concrete lintel or is that a no no?

Brick arch dropped while replacing upvc window

I will try tapping them back up first and wedge some slates in n see if that does the trick if that fails I'd have to go down the lintel route instead. I'd be able to point the front and underside of the arch but how do you do that back? On some of the joints the mortar looks fine and not...
