    Tank your walls. Cement based adhesive. 2 or 3 coats of sealer / impregnator.Use the recommended maintaianance cleaner ( most sealer manufacturers have one ) Then does no harm re sealing once a year. No problems

    I would take them back and ask for a refund. These are not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a refund. Otherwise ask the supplier to come and clean them. If you bought a carpet and it had stains on it, you would not expect the shop to tell you to hire a carpet cleaner

    You can dry line the wall. No need to plaster before tiling, plasterboard is a better substrate to tile upon than skimmed plasterboard. You would be well advised to buy a tanking kit to waterproof your wet area

    I use self leveller where necessary - if the customer wants a good job then they will have to pay for it... in the long run is no more expensive than the extra adhesive and time trying to level floor. Work with a lot of large format and natural stone .. substrate needs to be good. Also...
