    Soakaway installation/move

There is no drainage field or dkye, it runs in our own load and soaks away under the surface of the land. I'm not sure how clean you'd expect water in the 2nd chamger of a septic tank to be - this is everything but the solids and I'd expected it to be like this?!

    Soakaway installation/move

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes it is 100% a septic tank, thanks. What are the pumps referred to please, 'submersible septic tank pumps'? There is a slight rise in land level, which might be why this option has been decided upon. Do I need any building notice/permission to relocate the...

    Soakaway installation/move

Hi guys, My soakaway is currently installed near to a building and I want to have it moved. I can see at the moment I have a 2 chamber septic tank which is where the water from the soakaway comes from, and what appears to be an electric pump which forces out water via 25mm MDPE pipe (blue) Is...

    Rainwater drainage query

Oil fed worcester-bosch 12/15 Danesmoor boiler, which has stopped heating water

Hi, I bit the bullet and had an engineer pop over. I have to leave it on the 'c/heating' setting as the way it is wired, when only on 'hot water' setting the pump does not run. The boiler overheats and cuts off... The c/heating is then controlled on the digital timer unit, on or off. Learnt...

Oil fed worcester-bosch 12/15 Danesmoor boiler, which has stopped heating water

Hi, dasadsadsdaws On the cylinder it is set to 80*C. The boiler is set to Max tempreture. The copper tank was newly installed 4 years ago, it is the size of me, about 6 ft high and one of these solar ready type ones.

Oil fed worcester-bosch 12/15 Danesmoor boiler, which has stopped heating water

Further update guys/query When the boiler is 'on' should it be on constantly for the duration. ie, the timer is set between 7am and 8am, should the boiler be heating the water constantly for this time? As mine heats for 5 minutes, knocks off for 15 minutes, then on for 5 minutes.... then off...

Oil fed worcester-bosch 12/15 Danesmoor boiler, which has stopped heating water

Hi, Thanks for your reply again, sorry for my slow response. I had the boiler up and running for 4 days, on the timer all working fine. Then it has died again. Same problem as first of all, no lights at all. Had to power it off and press both the clear button reset and the one under the top...

Large pond - how to retain water

If I have a small lake, you have an ocean. :D So Clay lining is a possible solution then, 60cm I can take. From having it 5 foot deep to nothing is a bit annoying though. How does one go about getting clay? Assume buying packs from hobby craft would work out quite expensive. Whats involved...

Large pond - how to retain water

Hi. :) No photos yet but I can take one tomorrow. it is just a hole in the ground, the water of the house drains in to it (it is about 20 metres from the house) At the bottom there is just a mass of branches and mud from the surrounding trees. It has been there for a while though may have...

Large pond - how to retain water

Hi, We have a very large pond (going on for a miniature lake :D) which is about 10x10m. Through part of the year it is full of water other parts of the year it drys right out. It does not appear to be linked to the amount of rainfall, the previous owner said it was water table related. Can I...

Oil fed worcester-bosch 12/15 Danesmoor boiler, which has stopped heating water

Hi guys, Any further ideas on this please? Something must be tripping it and the reset button no longer 'resets' the boiler. It has the light 'lock out' shown now along with the power light.

Oil fed worcester-bosch 12/15 Danesmoor boiler, which has stopped heating water

Hi guys, I am back! The boiler has locked itself out again after about a weeks use, the water pressure is 1.2 bar, is this normal? The pressure is above the red marker so I assume it is a little high. How do I drain pressure off please? thanks Jon!

Oil fed worcester-bosch 12/15 Danesmoor boiler, which has stopped heating water

If you switch the hot water on, you get nothing. if you switch the c/h on you hear the pump but no heat. I've had a look at the circuit board but can't see any obvious fuses. programmer is working enough to tell the boiler when to be on/off. the c/h pump is certainly working when told to work.
