    Ford Mondeo

Hi my mk3 Ford Mondeo has a problem. When I got it, it was burning a bity of oil but then it started running on 3 cylinders, my garage tried a new set of plugs but that only worked for a day, was told that one of the plugs was oiling up? been quoted £500 to repair it, New piston rings, timing...

    New Boiler

I thought i'd nothing better to do than ask Worcester to install a new boiler for me but apparently they don't deal direct with the public. I've had a rough quote of £1500 to install an Alpha CD35C. Is this about average?

    New Boiler

What would I be expected to pay for a service? The contract I had with Worcester was to service once a year and call outs when needed. They were cheaper than British gas.

    New Boiler

Worcester Bosch, who have been servicing our Worcester Bosch 350 Combi for the last number of years, have informed us that from November they will no longer service it. Not surprised as it's 18 years old but it hasn't caused us much grief. It presently runs 8 rads, none of them that big. Any...

    Ford Mondeo warning light

Been talking to a few guys and the thoughts are that the manufacturers have these lights turn on to panic you into tootling along to your nearest Ford dealer

    Ford Mondeo

Hi me again, The car I bought is a Y REG 2001, I note there are 5 studs on each wheel, I was offered 5 alloys from a Ford Mondeo 16" but it looks as if they only have 4 studs, is this from an older model?

    Ford Mondeo warning light

Hi all, Ok i'm an idiot, bought a Y Reg Ford Mondeo at auction today, now this is not my first foray at said auction and quite expect to have to replace brake pads, wiper blades, the odd wheel bearing but this one, whilst driving home I was aware of what I thought was afore mentioned brake pad...

painting close to the edge on ceilings

It pays to come down on to the wall, this will give you a clean edge to cut in to when you paint the walls.

    Replacing mouldy grout

Mix bleach and bicarb of soda into a paste put it on the grout and leave it for a while to work, then wash it off. Good quality bleach is better

Can only bare wood be "knottied" ?

I'm having the same problem, doing a wood cabin style house where all the cladding was primed with Butinox but by someone else. It was done before it was built apparently in a big farm steading, however the guy didn't knot it, mind you there were thousands. However I mentioned it to the client...

Quick tip please - judgement error on colour!

From past experience, i've found Wickes paint,(supplied by customer) to be rubbish. OK this was a few years ago, when she brought it home I voiced my concern but she assured me that this was their premium Matt emulsion. Anyway I was only painting the dado, as the top was being papered. As I was...

    240v Halogens

Hi Thanks for replying but what i'm asking is how do you fit the springs to the fitting? They came in a separate bag. Once I know how to do one, the rest will follow.

    wood chip paper

The trouble with most DIY decorators is, they try to strip too quickly and don't soak enough. They wet it with a cloth, then immediately try stripping it instead of soaking it two or three times with a brush, then when it is soaked in, strip it. Alternatively hire or buy a cheapo "Earlex"...

    240v Halogens

Hi bought some 240v hologens that came with the most basic instructions, how do you fit the spring clips to them? The diagram is no more than a pencil drawing that tells me nothing. Realise it's probably simple but want to do it right.

    Wall fixings

I tried 8mm but maybe through my incompetance, the holes seemed to big. Although my drill is supposed to be a hammer drill, it sounds no different whether in hammer or drill.

    Painting over gloss

I was supplied with Crown solo to do a job a couple of months ago and thought I was fairly impressed with it but in the next section, we needed more supplies, this time I was involved and requested u/coat and gloss, Absolutely no comparison, the first part of the job was obviously inferior but...
