Coal fired central heating system, hot water slows to a stop

Could be an air lock (an old plumbers favourite in this is what the customer tells us) yet mostly it isn't. Muck in the tank eh, so it could be a blocked feed pipe, possibly at the gate valve which is a favourite - then again it could be ....... You can't really speculate on a forum. Good...

    Sourcing a Caleffi PRV.

There's nothing to stop non G3 plumbers diagnosing faults/ordering parts on unvented h/w systems (as long as they don't fit any). I'm fully licensed anyway. Servotech,

MX Inspiration LXi electric shower cutting out

Yeah, it's the thermal cut out. You've part diagnosed the problem yourself; the drop in water pressure will be the cause; the unit senses that it's going to scald you because not enough water is flowing through causing it to cut out. Check the shower head is not partially blocked. That the...

    Sourcing a Caleffi PRV.

It's refered to as the "High Flow Rate Inlet Control Set" in the manual.

    Sourcing a Caleffi PRV.

Much appreciated (good site that); whilst it's not got the part I'm after it as given me another idea that might just fix the problem. This is a photo that I took of the actual part. And this is taken from the instruction book. I'm now suspecting that it is a pre-plumbed unit...

    Sourcing a Caleffi PRV.

I was wondering if any of the unvented lads could help me source a 22mm 2 bar pre-set Caleffi combined pressure reducing/relief valve (EN1567)? Cheers, Servotech,

    smelly kitchen

I'm guessing that the washer/dishwasher wastes are connected into a trap underneath your sink via a multi fit connection. I would renew the whole washer/trap unit Here's why :-. The trap does a great job of preventing sewage smells entering your kitchen, however, when washing machines are...

Turning on outside water - Stopcock help

What a confusing post! :) Your obviously not a plumber!! However, I think I've made sense of it (ain't it grand to be daft!) I reckon your boundary stop tap is stuck/seized in the "on" position so when the rat box starts to fill with water you are actually starting to turn...

    Stop Cock...

I reckon you just need to re-pack or tighten the gland. It's the hex nut just below the crutch. Forget about replacing the stop tap I can see from the short picture that it's not a job for a diyer (not many plumbers would even want to take that job on)!

problems with water drainage in dish washer

A lot of washers have a filter on the front - usually accessed through a little door below the machine door 1/4 turn then pull it out and clean it (have some old towels ready to soak up the water that will spill out). This fits the fault you described to a T.

Unvented cylinder - vibrating noise after h/w is drawn off.

OK I think I'm with you now. Although my company is G3 reg we've not yet got round to getting all employees G3 reg (just yet). I still get sent to some of these jobs though, and when I do the boss still expects me to move the job forwards! Even though I wouldn't get the job of actual fitting...

Unvented cylinder - vibrating noise after h/w is drawn off.

Not sure what you mean by this. The expansion vessel is set at 3.1bar The Pressure reducing valve is pre-set at 2bar The incoming mains - well it fluctuates according to demand (time of day). I wouldn't have thought it rarely gets above 2bar during day usage, but it may during the night when...

Unvented cylinder - vibrating noise after h/w is drawn off.

Thanks, I think that's what I'll do. Plumbers are having to learn/adapt to this new technology whilst at the same time are expected to know everything and fix problems they've never come across before!

They are all pre-set to 2bar on this type of installation.
