Err the boiler is heating the hot water cylinder? Water taking easiet route seems a reason from your description. Try turning hot water off and heating only on; then get back to us.

Yes you could build a system exactly as Nu Heat describe. But do you really want to build your own system and bury it under 2" of screed. I have installed NU Heat underfoolr heating and was impreesed with ease of instalation and cost. TBH you wont save much building one when you work...

I actually would suggest the Ferroli, no diverter valve to fail, never had a prob sourcing parts. When i think cheap i think Ariston!! When i think expensive i think Worcester!! Another £250 on top of that Ferroli will get you an equivalent Worcester, although they are good.
