    If they are med tiles and as its only a wc I would use bal green star.trade price from my local topps is about £6.50 You could use the rapid flexi if you wanted though.

    Tiling onto bonding/undercoat is not a good idea as the adhesive doesnt bond well to it. You can dot and dab plasterbrd on though and tile directly onto it as you suggested.

    What do you mean by a floating floor?floor brds on joists? I would inerprite floating floor as laminate where the flooring just lays on the floor with no fixings.

    What you need to consider is the weight.What is the wall they are fixed to? Bonding and skim,plasterbrd and skim. Recommended weights are 20kg per sqm for plasterbrd and skim or bonding and skim 32kg per sqm for plasterbrd with no skim.

    Don't use pva to prime it,use an acrylic primer. If you are going to fit the no more ply cement boards over the top then skim with flexi adhesive lay the no more ply then screw down at 200mm centers.

    Spruce is for constructional use yes but not for exterior.You can seal with varnish or some old goss as long as it stops it absorbing moisture from beneath.

    If you aim for about a sqm an hour then you should be ok,thats 44 tiles an hour for 6"x6".I'm not a fast tiler but I get plenty of work,stick with going for quaility and don't get caught up too much with how many sqm you need to be doing.

    I wouldn't use spruce,wbp ply is better,you shouldn't need to overboard with the no more ply.Seal the undersides of the ply and edges before fixing.

    I'd be looking at about £25 per sqm,if there are lots of cuts ie in a kitchen sockets etc then a bit more but I supply my own grout,adhesive and trim.
