    Hi, are you saying the ratio is ok but just to measure it in buckets instead of straight out the bag? So 1 bag of cement (2 buckets) 6 buckets of sand and 4 buckets of gravel? Would that all fit in the minimix? cheers

    I don’t need to, but would like to. The prices are pretty sameish until you go really big so thought may aswell get one that could do it in 1 go.

    I’m about to buy a new mixer. I need to mix 1 bag of cement, 2 gravel and 3 sand at a time. Does anyone have an idea of what size mixer I need? Does 140 litre sound about right? TIA

    Yeh the stuff I saw just had silver sand write on the bag but the website description was ‘for play pits’. I guess there’s different kinds of silver sand.

    I’m in the West Midlands. I was getting it from Wickes’ all last year but they’re website says its out of stock now. It looks like they’re doing away with it to be honest.

    So basically I’ve been making decorative concrete for a few years. It took me ages to find out how to get a natural grey colour, by swapping sharp sand for silver sand. Apparently the silver sand is colourless so the concrete takes on the colour of the cement. Now I can’t get silver sand...
