fill up gap round radiator pipe with grout?

You can get them from all the big DIY stores - wickes always have them in stock in white and chrome in both 15mm and 22mm pipes

    sealing travertine tiles

You need to get a sealer from a tile shop or somewhere similar. They need sealing because the tiles are quite absorbant and stain very easily. The sealent acts as a barrier and stops water, grease or any other liquid penetrating and staining the tiles. Lay the tiles out on a board and put 2...

Flloor tiles grouted today - sealing tomorrow

Sorry....right, i've just skimmed through your other post. I'm no expert at all but i have just used a sealer on my tiles. The grout i would've thought would have to be completely dry and thats the only reason i can think of for it being patchy. If he cleaned the floor with a wet sponge then...

    wiring shower unit

Your best bet is to ask this in the electrics forum. You'll get more help on there. I may be wrong but i think this work is notifiable.

    Bath sealant - still leaking

Thats sounds strange. Did you fill the bath up when the silicon was applied. The bath will usually sink a bit with the weight of a person plus water. if the bath wasnt full this could break the seal.

fill up gap round radiator pipe with grout?

I covered mine tile cuts with those crome pipe rings. Its like a crome washer that you split, slide down the pipe and sit it over the hole where the pipe comes up through the tile covering the hole and an area of about 10m all round. But thats cos i'm not as professional or neat as JasonB

    How to find a pipe

Can you see where the mains comes into the kitchen - usually supplies the cold kitchen tap? I'd put a stop cock in there, but thats presuming that it oes straight to the sink. Somebody else may be able to give you a better idea.

    fitting a raised shower tray....

Yes - if there isnt room under the tray then the normal thing to do is raise the tray up. You can build a plinth quite easily by cutting strips of 2x4 timber and sandwiching them between 18mm ply. You can then cut out you hole for your waste on the top sheet of ply, sit the tray on top and fit...

    Cloakroom re-fit

Check the manufacturers instructions regarding the toilet. Mine didnt specify any bedding compound at all so i sat it on a bed of silicon then screwed it into the floor. The pan connector can be fitted without the use of silicon but check for leaks after a few flushes. I bought a faulty...

    Push button toilet

Have you adjusted the flush? If i remember correctly the amount of water being flushed can be adjusted as well as the rate at which the water is flushed. Try adjusting these settings.

    Tiling help pls

I'm not quite sure what you meant about the spacers but i take it they are stuck in the joint? Try and carefully price them out with a small screw driver being careful not to chip the tiles. As for the adhesive it is a pain to get off. Be sure next time to wipe them with a wet sponge as you...

    Grout washing

Chaps, I am about to tile my bathroom. I have bought ceramic wall tiles but plan to have a border half way up of natural stone tiles. These have lots of holes in them which the sales guy said require a "grout wash" to cover them. I was going to just grout over the tiles and then wipe away...

    Fitting new ball valve

Hi chaps, I have a few problems with my ball valve / cold water tank in the loft. The ball valve doesnt shut the water off completely once the float is up to its maximum level so will need replacing (its pretty old and unable to adjust it. However, the cold water tank is cracked and split...
