    Dry glue from floor???

So I lifted up our rug/antislip rug thing and we see this (see attached image) Any know why the hell glue is appearing between these kardean style floor boards? I never see the glue wet only dry and chalky. The floors were installed way before we even moved in. Very confused.

    Metal light switches wiring

Is a 1.5mm stranded earth cable okay to use as a fly between the back box and the metal face plate?

    Metal light switches wiring

Also FYI these wires circled red aren't a part of the CU. Its a kettle lead and an ethernet cable.

    Metal light switches wiring

Hmm I'm not actually sure where that earth goes. The CU was installed Dec 2017 but I'll get an EIC report just to be safe. Do you know how much they usually cost? This sentence was grabbed from the CU installation certificate; "Existing Installation was old fuse wire type board. Meter Tails...

    Metal light switches wiring

Okay I'll get some copper wiring and fly between the plate and box. Does this image show that there is continuity with the earth on the consumer unit? All starting to go over my head now

    Metal light switches wiring

Okay so should I remove the box earthing over to the front plate? Or do they both need to be earthed?

    Metal light switches wiring

Thought I'd ask this before I burn down my home. I'm changing all the plastic light switches to metal fittings and as wondering if I needed to earth the switch plate itself if the back box is earthed? IMG_20190112_110013 by smollions posted 12 Jan 2019 at 11:06 AM

    Is this damp???

So we have this mark that was hidden behind some built in shelving that the previous owners had. It looks like a discolouration and it's patchy and darker than the rest of the wall... I can't quite tell if it's damp or mould though. It's been the same size ever since we moved in 5 months ago...

What to use to plug the gap between back wall / fireplace edges

We're slowly restoring our fireplace so it's bare brick! What do you lot think is best to plug the gap around the fireplace from where we removed the original breast plaster? Will bonding coat do the job? Cheers!

    Exposing brick on chimney breast

We'd like to have just the chimney breast bare brick. Theres a few cracks and broken off bricks in places that need to be filled/fixed it seems. The closure sits at the bottom of the concrete squared off section... I'd prefer to remove the concrete section and have a new closure higher up...

    Exposing brick on chimney breast

There was a big crack and hole in the plaster of our chimney breast so my wife started hacking at it and things escalated haha - My main concern is the archway section. It seems to be concreted up, is this usually to support the archway itself or maybe its just an aesthetic patch to square off...
