    Shattered shower screen

I had a shower screen shatter in mid air during installation. Had carried it upstairs with no issues. It didn't touch anything - just bang, cuts everywhere and scratches all over the newly installed bathroom.

    Refurbishment of Downstairs Toilet

Nice job, looks like you've been through and planned each stage. My only point would be the sink waste into the cistern. Having seen sink pipework clogged with hair, soap and toothpaste residue I can't imagine a flush mechanism working too long with all that going through it. Also the hot water...

    Prices of Take-away Food

The oily bits you describe are "scraps" didn't realise it was just a Yorkshire thing but they're lovely, add a bit of crunch to your meal. My lad works in a chippy and he said everything has gone up and surprisingly potatoes have increased massively

    Is this expanding foam?

It looks like stuff I have in my wall cavity. It's very crumbly when touched.

How can I add mixer tap on bathtom sink with seperate tap holes?

If it's a rental then only 1 factor needs to be considered, what's cheaper? 2 basin taps or a bridge mixer

What did you seriously hate as a child?

Spam fritters for school dinners - horrid things and made me have a lifelong aversion to battered food

    Leak under toilet cistern

Is the nut tight? If yes then the seal internally needs replacing, not a big job and not expensive.

Are you doing anything to conserve water?

I pay £700 per year on a rateable charge, 4 of us, we tried a meter and would have save £40 a year being strict with water so we went back to rateable. At that price I use what I want.

    Flexible bath waste?

Recipe for disaster. Do it properly first time. Can you not adjust the waste pipe that goes outside. I assume it's above floor level currently.

Best way to widen my garden gate in brick wall

Only way to make it wider is remove some of the bricks. How you do it is up to you. Cutting with a saw would be quickest way, hopefully wall holds up to the work. Reaffix posts and fit a wider gate and you're away.
