The cold tap in the bathroom basin now requires 4/5 turns before the flow is acceptable. 1 turn used to suffice. They're an old style tap similar to the picture below. We live in a hard water area if that has any significance. Any idea how this can be fixed? Thanks in advance for any help.

It just seems a waste of energy to have an unused box room the same temperature as living room for example?

I was looking in to balancing my radiators but only 2 have the "lockshield" valves. Each has a TRV all upstairs rads also have a valve with + and - symbols on, can these still be balanced in the same way as rads with a lockshield? What's best way to use a balanced system with the TRVs on...

Thanks for your help Terry. After trying the ptfe i realised there's a hairline crack on the pipe just below the collar. I'll have to swap this part. Quality seems very poor compared to the part it's replacing!

Probably a stupid question but wrap the tape around it when it's on the pipe, so the tapes partially on the pipe and rubber seal?

I wouldn't say very loose just not as snug as the old pipe.

Wouldn't the boiler keep the pump running when in CH mode as there's no room thermostat to tell it to stop?

1 - yes it'll relight for a few minutes, then off, then back on etc 2 - no ideas on the water temperature. It's an analogue dial with no numbers on it.

Would the salus rt510bc thermostat be a straight swap? Just a case of swapping the spade connecters. Even though the numbers seem back to front on the salus thermostat compared to the mechanical timer I currently have?
