New windows fitted - am I being picky?

Personally it would bother me, in my eyes you should see an equal amount of frame on all windows. If you do accept it just ensure you dont look at it everyday and think 'its a shame'

How level should a new wall be

Hi, We are having an extension build, just got upto damp and I noticed the inner leaf is totally level, but the outer brickwork runs out and is 40mm higher at one end, over an 11 meter wall. Obviously where we have no openings it would be noticable but we have some large sliding doors...

    Trench fill foundations,

Thanks to all for your responses, I still feel the BCO should justify with calc's that it ok, as it was his decision alone to move away from the regulations. I am only concerned as looking at the regulations, a strip foundation should overlap 300mm or twice the step. Trench fill overlap...

    Trench fill foundations,

I have asked the BC company, they have refused saying "in their professional opinion its fine" and they are providing the certificate. Upon checking both the 'approved documents' and 'NHBC guidance' all state >1m. It's a concern as not sure if to build on top, as it will be expensive to...

    Trench fill foundations,

Hi, My builder was constructing some steps into a trench fill foundation. The building inspector (private company) said the overlap had to be 300mm, so the builder made the overlaps 300mm. Reading the Approved building regaulations they say minimum 1m overlap. When questioning the...
