Thats also what the sparkys have recommended, as I have asked them to fit the Galv trunking.. We dont have time. They have used paxolin (sp) between the MCCB board & the 2x 24way TP Merlin Gerin Boards.. David

Galv. Box trunking, protecting edges around openings?

Cant do that the opening needs to be around 540mm Idea we are swinging towards is removing most of the side of the trunking, and just spanning the gap with the lid. Will sort some pics to explain.

Its to go under a phone system, Theres around 16x 20 pair cables to come out along the length. What I'll probably do is holesaw each end and then jigsaw it out.. T&E would probably work well, but would look a little rough, even though it would be effective.. Ill get some of the grommet srip I...

Galv. Box trunking, protecting edges around openings?

We need to intall something at work, and rather than using 100x100 PVC Trunking, I'd rather use 100x100 Galv trunking so that it matches the existing stuff, However I need to cut an opening in it for cables (Telephony / Data) around 550mm long however I dont want the edges getting damaged...

    SwitchFuse or DP isolator

If running an SWA (say 16.0mm²) to an outbuilding, would you protect it via a switchfuse (~63A) or a DP isolator in an enclosure? Whats your preference, previously I've used the metal clad Wylex Switchfuses, but just wondering. David

    Cabling for gate opener

Anybody interested in purchasing a 200Kva 3 phase generator? Very little use, made by SDMO.. Fairly cheap, Located in Leeds City Centre.. Can arrange for it to be dropped onto the back of a truck / trailer / allports wagon via crane if it ties in with removal dates. David

Damn right.. its bad enough messing around with live tails ;) So next time someone says can I get 2x 4mm² or 2x 6mm² singles into a socket, we can safely say that you can actually get 16mm² or even 25mm² cables in :D ;) I suppose the difference is when I do a rewire, its on a refurb, so we...

    wiring spotlights

Quick theoretical question, If using 1.5mm² t&e how do you wire spotlights? I know 1.00mm² is a little easier to get in, however IE junction boxes need to be accessible, so where do you do what you would normally do in a ceiling rose? David

    Wiring a cabin

I cant quote the regs but that sounds bad to me.. use black 4" waste pipe -no cable marking tape and someone cuts the pipe with a stihl saw to add a drain.. Spend the money and buy proper cable ducting. David
