Concreting over chipping at side of patio

Just been reading about it. So potentially down each side of my concrete slabs (and between the patio and back of house) there may be buried a pipe which is a french drain? Hmm. knowing what housebuilders are like I'm not so sure if they'd even bother. This is Barratt built 2000. It seems they...

Concreting over chipping at side of patio

At the front of the house, the driveway runs straight up to the front of the house so no chippings gap there. Is this normal? Just wonder how this is OK.

Concreting over chipping at side of patio

Well I was going to pour the concrete onto the chippings. Bad idea then? I wasn't aware why they existed. Same for the side by the fence I guess? Good idea I guess but I've seen loads of house that don't have this. Could I do but leave a small gap by the wall?

Concreting over chipping at side of patio

Pretty common I guess. Concrete slabs/patio then chippings down the sides. Anyway my dear wife has had a bright idea that you can just pour concrete over the chippings and its job done. Shes bought a bag of floor levelling compound. Is is this easy?

    Fitting new sink waste

Got it now. Tight fit and it was hard to tighten the nut and keep it straight but got there in the end.

    Fitting new sink waste

Yes thats it. Yeh it macalpine. I'll try and get a pic but the waste bit is like 2mm, then a rubber washer in a groove then sort of like a lip. I assumed the waste pipe went in up to the lip so the washer was like 1-2mm inside the screw of the waster. At the moment, the rubber washer just...

    Fitting new sink waste

32mm sink waste fitted. Trouble is the 32mm p trap end doesnt quite fit in the hole. I'm assuming the entire tip (inc the washer) goes inside? It doesnt leaving about 2 mm to go in. No way that bit with the washer on is going in there. Thats never going to work - tightening up the nut it doesnt...

    Waste replacement Belfast sink.

Yeh the main waste part fits fine - 90mm...... Its just the side waste pipe. Flexi tube seems a bit larger than the one supplied.

    Waste replacement Belfast sink.

Looks like the bit in the sink (plughole) is screwed into the bit below and this seems to have snapped completely. No problem, I thought, got replacement from screwfix. Fits well - apart from a side waste flex pipe. Seems this one is slightly smaller diameter than the one thats currently there...

Replacement shower hose - male thread into mixer shower housing

Having a nightmare with this. Thought I'd cracked it using a 1/2" male to 3/8" male adaptor. The 1/2" bit fits into the new hose but its a smidge too small to screw into the mixer shower housing. Problem is I can't remember make of shower. Any ideas what I can do?

Toilet inlet - leaking again - furred up

Pretty sure I've changed this before.... Appears to be leaking due to mould/fur causing a problem. Luckily, its the connection to isolating valve thats the problem so easy enough to swap out. Still a right PITA. Anyway to stop it re-occuring?
